Anyone in YEG able to recommend a good company to get a new front door through? I want the entire frame ripped out and replaced. Ty!!
Got in a fight with another parent at school pickup today after I asked him to turn off his vehicle as we all waited around for 20mins for the kids to come out. He argued idiling laws don't apply if you're sitting in your car.
I hate everything right now.
It's kinda funny how commuting to downtown is sometimes more convenient for me than further on my west side of the city. The direct bus route really helps. Looks like I'm going next to Wihkwentowin arena to continue my learn-to-ice-skate routine!
Anyone know a good podcast that covers the Canadian constitution?
Iβve listened to an episode of the 99pi American one, but want something similar for Canada
Giselle smiling while holding a Certificate of Appreciation from Angel Hair for Kids for most recent hair donation.
Week 2 post-donation and I got this in the mail from Angel Hair for Kids! Happy to see they still have the same process!
Alright Iβm officially scared enough to break my lease, if anyone has a lead on three bedroom dog-friendly rentals in northeast Edmonton please hmu π©
A picture of 104 Street full of people because it is closed to cars.
If there ever was a space that should be pedestrianized year-round, it's 104 Street.

Giselle smiling while showing off her hairstyle that looks like a buzz cut. She was almost bald one week ago.
1 week after the latest hair donation again (to help make affordable wigs for kids with cancer). π€©
Cutting it off in winter continues to be the right call, as my scalp will be protected with an inch of hair by summer! By the time I donate again I'll be doing it for 20 years!
Data and privacy nerds - you may be quite interested in the Senate Legal and Constitutional Affairs committeeβs new report on Bill C-4. Some very strong recommendations from re privacy protection for Canadian voters. #SenateofCanada #lcjc #cdnpoli #Canada
I just watched an Asian-American finance personality share nuanced investing tips for Muslim people in recognition of Ramadan. I'm really loving the intersectionality and thoughtfulness! This is why I stay on social media- it does still expand my horizons!
My husband bikes every Wednesday so he already did his part yesterday. π
He had a good bike ride to work, to his dad's, and then home.
He says he noticed there's more cyclists in winter (this is his 2nd year). Y'all have fun tomorrow!
A bright red abstract sculpture displayed on a piano.
Every once in a while I make a piece available from my personal collection. This one is titled βReachingβ and it is painted in Canada flag redπ¨π¦. It is 26β tall and a perfect way to commemorate these Olympics.

I am far from being alone using transit in the off peak. Lots of people with me on buses & trains as I navigate multiple modes to go to appointments on a day off mid-week, daytime. πππ
My bike and another rider waiting for the funicular
Iβm happy to say itβs a cycling morning! Not a great one though. Impossible to go on the valley paths safely due to ice.

So Canada has a cobra chicken and a wolf bird now?
I had the privilege of interviewing @nondriver.bsky.social, author of When Driving is Not an Option, for my podcast! Watch the interview here! Anna is brilliant! What an immense honour and pleasure to speak with you! youtu.be/Sov29UQpE8s?...
Thank you to @roguenerdone.com for making a donation of a Cheese Wheel Cutter to the @heavyhockey.bsky.social Showdownβs Silent Auction in support of @sacetalks.bsky.social
Auction starts February 13.
Does anyone know when Wihkwentowin Neighbourhood Renewal is actually supposed to take place? like estimated years of construction?
Remember, if you are upset about street parking being taken up by those who don't have a private garage YET you don't yourself use your private garage, you are adding to the problem.
Many homes in Edmonton have garages. Use your own space if you're upset about the lack of it on the PUBLIC street.
I am thrilled for the artistic and business success of Heated Rivalry. I hope it leads to increases in CanCon funding for Canadian film & TV projects because right now we live in one of the most risk averse funding regimes in the world. It's a miracle any show gets made.
Thank you to the Nielson Family for making a donation of a beautiful gift basket filled with luxurious goat soaps, tallow balms, room spray, and so much more, to the @heavyhockey.bsky.social Showdownβs Silent Auction to benefit @sacetalks.bsky.social
Any Canadians here trying the new social media app, Gander? Any first impressions so far?
Edmonton friends, a pal of mine has started a cleaning business and is looking for new clients...which means lots of availability if you're one of her first customers.

This should be standard for every transit system.
And they should have to do it twice a year, in July & January because the January trip will show the flaws in stark detail.
Approach to the funicular with a full moon above the buildings.

Giselle about to leave the exam room at a clinic. The consultation bed with the foot rests are behind her.
Friendly PSA: book your reproductive health appointments!!!
I'm so grateful to get the letter reminder to book my pap test, that it was quick (let's face it, it's never painless) and it cost $0 out of pocket!
Thank you!
Giselle skating at the city hall rink, with no guides for the first time. She's a bit stiff and trying to keep her form, but happy she hasn't fallen over yet.
Every Sunday since January I go to the City Hall rink to learn how to skate, with the handy equipment for beginners and the amazing coaching of the drop-in instructor. Finally I skated w/o guides for 30 seconds straight for the first time! π
