Our wee chicklets are doing good. The flock is integrated and doing chicken things together; they're especially cute when they pile for a dust bath.

You guys on here also get a zoom of his face and dye patterns because they're pretty, and of course, not really visible. But that's what I do, make tiny things on huge canvases since c. 2000-teens :}< Enjoy Raja in pastels ~ it's almost Spring

One of my favorite parts to draw on Raja has always been his stupid scutes. I've never really settled on a super consistent way of doing it, other than they have a point on the center, but they're just so flexible and twisty *u*

Sketches some blobby shapes, picked a shape to clean, then changed it anyway, but it's a prettier shape 🤍

We have a separate wood coop we are repairing and will connect both with a little yard in between so they can choose to be in the wood house, the middle area, or in the shade here. :) It's hot where we are, so ventilation and shade were as important as predator protection! 2/2

Ours is! We used hoop tractor plans, but we opted to make it stationary with a predator apron all around so things can't dig in instead of moveable. All latches have locks and the whole thing is wrapped in hardware cloth (not chicken wire). 1/2

Finally kicked the chicklings out of the house only to pick up three more. Is this maths yet?

This is Cow (named after the 🍄), the chicken we found hiding from hawks in the woods behind our house. Since no one claimed Cow, we built her a house, raised some chicks to give her a flock... and that is how we "accidentally" chickens. @takoma.bsky.social
