Thanks, Rob!
Thanks, Rob!
An American Robin is in the mid frame on a branch. The bird has a yellow beak, black head with noticeable white eye ring, and a red breast. It is looking to the left.
Hereβs an American Robin hanginβ on a branch for the #BirdOfTheDay #BranchBirds #birds
A square-ish Dark Eyed Junco standing on a rock, looking to the right.
Happy Sunday, #birds!
We know borbs.
What about squorbs?
Weβre getting a lot also. Any Purple Finches? Weβve had tons of each this year.
Northern Gannets are so rad!
Itβs so good! What a great shot! Thanks for sharing!
THATS RAD!!
I provide a mix including black oil sunflower and hulled sunflower; they seem to prefer the seeds with shell on here. These and our Chickadees love them.
A gray, white and brown Tufted Titmouse sits on a snow dusted iron hanger looking over its right wing-shoulder back at the camera.
Happy Tuesday, #birds! Hereβs a cheeky Tufted Titmouse we got during the storm over the weekend.
What a great shot! Thanks for sharing!
A dark seabird stands on the edge of a cliff with wings raised, head tilted up, and a striking electric-blue throat and eye. Photographed in La Jolla, California.
How cool is that electric-blue throat patch on this Brandtβs Cormorant! Unreal.

Why do mated songbirds sing beautifully coordinated duets? My Ph.D. work showed that duets are cooperative signals that pairs use to defend their shared territory. This visual summary is based on Logue & Gammon 2004 Animal Behaviour 68: 521-531 and Logue 2005 Cognition, Brain, Behavior 9:497-510.
Rad!!! Thank you!
Center is a Coopers Hawk, head looking backwards and up like a dog REALLY hearing something interesting.
Happy New Year, #birds!
This Coops still loves hanging out next to our window. I love the PokΓ©mon sparkle in their eye.
A pale blue sky covers most of the image, with leafless deciduous treetops visible. In the top fifth of the image a portion of a houseβs eaves are visible, with a Coopers Hawkβs tail extending below the eaves a few inches.
Good morning! Had a fun visit from that Coopers Hawk again, though not in as visible a spot. #birds
It really can!
A white breasted bird with stripes has a very fluffy chest as it sits in an Oak tree whose branch bisects the page.
Potato quality pic, but hereβs a Coopers Hawk that was right outside my window gettin all flurfy. #birds
RAD! Thats so cool! I love both of those lil birds.
Those bubblegum pink legs are bananas! Thanks for the pic!
Itβs soooooooo great
Against a tastefully blurred blue background with some foliage a twig bisects the image diagonally from bottom left to top right. Midway through the twig a Palm Warbler sits, facing the top right. We see this yellow bird with white wing bars and a strong eyeline in profile.
Hereβs a #BirdOfTheDay #SideView of a Palm Warbler. Yβall have a rad Tuesday! #birds πͺΆ
I don't often post about work, but we have this fascinating free public event next week on Saving Britain's wildlife at LSE.
Come along in person or join us online, www.lse.ac.uk/events/savin...
Please help spread the word about this important topic.

Rad! I have yet to list a Chestnut-Sided!!! They look so cool!
An owlβs face is center frame. It has gorgeous eyebrows and cool orange eyes.
Hereβs Romeo, the Eurasian Eagle Owl currently hanging out at the Carolina Renfaire
#birds
No worries!
I think you mean someone else, though my nic came from a dream I was in Sparks Nevada where I assisted a Martian Wagon train as βSureshot Saddletrousersβ.
A large horsefly is clinging to a portion of a chain link fence. The background is a soft mix of greens, browns, and yellows.
Iβm not certain what type of horsefly this is, but its eyes are so rad.
#bugsky
An orange butterfly is center frame. It is sitting on an orange and yellow flower. I donβt know what itβs thinking about.
Found this Gulf Fritillary (Agraulis vanillae) (I think?) on a quick trip to SC this week.
#bugsky
A gray and white-breasted bird sits center frame. Its bill is yellow underneath and black up above, and you can see the small downturn on the upper bill that flycatchers have.
An Eastern Wood Pee-Wee hanging out after catching some bugs. #birds
Nice shot!
