But when you u-turn on every pledge, a book comes out which clearly shows you lied to everyone, you then u-turn 13 times on policy…. But yes, blame the media!

I’d say it’s non existent… the extreme factionalism I think feels worse because he pretended for so long not to be what he’s become. You could argue him from 20 years ago would hate what he is now… there’s clearly something deep rooted in him, but what is the point of winning to implement this?

My worry here is that none of it is about what’s right for the country or because he believes in something or making things better… then again when he is three line whipped to help pass the very Brexit he opposed so vociferously I realised it wasn’t about doing what was right (even in his own head)

That and the endless nepotism, bullying, toxicity and all round childishness makes it somewhere where most people of actual talent would rather avoid… and we wonder why he have the lightweights we do for politicians… sigh

@jeevunsandher.bsky.social has his WhatsApp leaked where he said he was delighted to go out and talk about the proposals… so that should tell you.

I’m sure Starmer, Mahmood, Reed, McSweeney with their friends Glasman, Hinder and Akehurst and co will find a way to blame anyone but themselves… because that’s just who they are.

I have a good career in marketing… no way to move out of my parents house… I may be able to get a deposit saved but a mortgage would require a multiplier I just see can’t get too… a lot of young people are very frustrated and very angry.

@jamesrball.com Farage thanks you for your service!

These people seemingly want to hand this country to Streeting and then to proto fascism… it’s wild

Get In? That blew smoke up the backside of his handlers? We have a PM who has no skills or instincts… about to hand the country off to proto fascists… but yes let’d go back 10-15 years! Farage thanks you for your service to the cause

Like ditching ten pledges… that’s something the media should really explore

Thank god for “sovereignty” right? Really helping right now

But they can’t… because the “Trump whisperer” can fix all things… oh wait

I mean Spain faces similar issues… it’s almost like they didn’t make an extremely stupid decision about 10 years ago which gives them cover… can’t imagine what that might be… maybe Blue Labour can enlighten all of us

You’re probably about where I am…

Many white collar liberals live in extremely expensively places too… I wear a lanyard in the office… I still can’t afford to move out of my parent’s… if you want to know where the Green rise coming from…. Start there.

Me too… always was seen as a moderate, but I’ve now realised my politics is basically Burnham since becoming Manchester mayor… except I live down south.

There has to be a rhetorical shift on social issues, Europe and immigration I think at a minimum… the chiding and blackmailing (there’s nowhere else to go) also needs to stop.

Yeah… he’s played a lot at CF in his career so I thought I could get away with it… but I am aware he’s not a true 9… as you say there’s not a ton of them around.

I mean you can’t, Labour mp’s are many things… I don’t think they’re masochists or have career death wishes.

11.03.2026 00:59 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

I mean they are… they’ve just abstained so they can add amendments… somewhat placating Turner in the short term doesn’t mean the fight has been won. One because it’s moronic policy… two because why rebel now when the guy/girl who replaces Starmer will almost certainly bin these reforms anyway.

11.03.2026 00:57 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

I mean… they’ve made it pretty clear they’re going to strip a lot of it out at third reading… we’re not talking about what the public care about here… Labour Mp’s decide Starmer’s future… you can’t zombie around losing election after election as the most unpopular PM in history for very long.

11.03.2026 00:56 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

You can’t have someone this unpopular passing policy… because it makes every policy toxic… he does have some sacrificial lambs in Lammy (jury reform), Mahmood + Tapp (immigration) and if he was completely desperate Reeves…

The major carrot he has is EU relations… they are setting the stage for that

One thing carney explicitly did not do was offer “change”… or “rewiring the state”… he doesn’t get involved in culture wars and socially is pretty liberal. On immigration he changed the rules quickly and doesn’t bang on about it in every presser. For all of his faults, he’s not politically inept

11.03.2026 00:30 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Carney can actually speak and make an argument though… he also didn’t take freebies or threaten to cut welfare budgets. The boring part of the centrism is where Starmer has failed… the rhetoric and policies have actually not been “boring centrist” at all.

11.03.2026 00:25 👍 6 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

He may get a stay of execution… but he’s not getting anywhere near the end of the year. Maybe the end of the summer… but I think there’s going to be mass panic if they’re in 3rd in Wales, Scotland and London… it’s just untenable to have someone this unpopular passing policy…

11.03.2026 00:21 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Teams in the bottom half in Spain, Italy and France would probably be interested… he’s 22…

11.03.2026 00:17 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

And he’s not better than Bowen

10.03.2026 23:23 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

This is exactly what I mean…. Bowen is a club legend at West Ham because he often drags them out of trouble… I don’t see anyone at Spurs like that. It’s a big reason why I’d take Bowen to the World Cup as an option.

I don’t think it’s going to collapse quite like that… remember the Blue Labour party is absolutely tiny in relative terms… it’ll be a soft left party by the end of the year… unfortunately without it’s most successful and popular soft left politician… unless soft left mp’s read some Machiavelli.
