The work was done in collaboration with @qmul.bsky.social
and the question set is available to other non-commercial UK researchers to use in their projects as part of a pilot study. Feedback from the pilot will be used to improve the questions in future.
We recently published a paper about developing a demographic question set for research participants. We worked with patients and members of the public to agree an acceptable set of questions we can ask our participants.

Could expanding SBRT to pelvic lymph nodes improve outcomes for men with high-risk #ProstateCancer?

Thank you to all the participants and hospitals that took part in the CHHiP trial and provided samples for this project.
The marker was associated with recurrence and improved prediction of recurrence compared to other risk classifications currently used in clinic.
This study used data and samples from the CHHiP study and looked at testing whether a previously developed marker which classes patients as having high, intermediate or low risk of their #ProstateCancer coming back was associated with clinical outcomes.
Last week Dr Anna Wilkins presented "External validation of a digital pathology-based multimodal artificial intelligence (MMAI)-derived prognostic biomarker in the randomised phase III CHHiP trial" at the GU-ASCO conference.
The PACE-NODES protocol paper has been published in Clinical and Translational Radiation Oncology.
The #ClinicalTrial is comparing treating localised #ProstateCancer patients with SBRT over 5 days to the prostate alone or both the prostate and pelvis.

It was an honour to represent @icr-ctsu.bsky.social at this event. Our collaboration with the ICR’s Division of Radiotherapy & Imaging has been a cornerstone of our trials portfolio for many years and we are proud of our contribution to the radiotherapy research recognised through this award.
Last week, the FAST-Forward Boost trial completed recruitment to the Early Side Effects Substudy with 345 patients randomised.
The study will now be transitioning to the main trial part of the study with a target of 4,830 patients.
You can read more about the trial here: www.icr.ac.uk/ff-boost
Today is #WorldCancerDay.
This week we’re highlighting impactful work from Registered CTUs.
The @icr-ctsu.bsky.social IMPORT HIGH trial showed that treatment times for radiotherapy could be reduced for some early breast cancer patients.

4 February is #WorldCancerDay.
This week we’re highlighting impactful work from Registered CTUs, starting with this ICR-CTSU project setting out recommendations for patient‑reported outcomes in early cancer drug trials: tinyurl.com/35p76f3u
#UKCTUNetwork #UnitedByUnique @icr-ctsu.bsky.social
New research introduces the first practical guidance on how patients’ own assessments of how tolerable they find treatments (patient-reported outcomes) can be used more effectively to inform and design early-stage cancer drug trials.

➡️ Please note, anyone who has chosen not to allow their NHS health data to be used for research will not be included in the data provided by NHS England. For more information visit the NHS website.
To find out more, including how to opt out from your information being shared with NHS England if you took part in one of our trials, head to:
www.icr.ac.uk/interact
To do this, we will send NHS England information about our trial participants (NHS number and date of birth). NHS England will use this to note which patients took part in our trials. We will not be able to identify anyone from the data we receive.
📢 We are doing a study called INTERACT to find out whether any groups of people have been less likely to take part in cancer studies in the UK.
We'll use routine data collected by NHS England to see if there are any differences between those who joined our clinical trials and those who did not.
Delighted to share OPTIMISE-ROR – recommendations to help embed patient-reported outcomes (PROs) more meaningfully in dose-finding oncology trials. It sets out core PRO objectives to support tolerability assessment, dose selection, and PRO strategy for subsequent studies. tinyurl.com/45thervu.

At 4:05 this afternoon you can hear updates on the HER2 RADiCAL and FAST-FORWARD BOOST trials in the #ClinicalTrials session. One of our lead statisticians Lucy Kilburn will also be talking about enhancing trials using routine data linkage in this session.
We are looking forward to attending UKIBCS this morning and learning about recent advances in #BreastCancer
