Policy processes are designed to be complex, slow-moving and difficult so the status quo is maintained. Transparency is a lofty goal but in practice decisions are often made behind closed doors. To affect urgent, transformative change, prioritise being part of those decisions!

I enjoyed this @tabledebates.bsky.social podcast on how and why fossil fuels became so central to food systems, from production to distribution to cooking. But in terms of what comes next, I think it suffers from what I like to call the limits of "agroecological solutionism." A thread... 1/
