I almost added that the only grass starter I've ever felt instantly drawn to was Rowlet, and that it would be hard to top "little round bird" as a design choice.

What do you know? We get another little round bird grass starter.

My unsolicited Pokemon prediction for tomorrow is that they'll announce new core series games, the region will be inspired by Japan (as an homage to Kanto/Johto, "where it all began") or Greece, and the grass starter will be the one I'm oddly drawn to the most (usually a water-type starter fan).

I've gotten back into playing Animal Crossing lately and I've been trying to complete my deep sea creature collection. I saw a large shadow in the water and dove for it. "Big, very slow. Must be seaweed again."

...so anyway, that's why my character now has a pet octopus.

So my creative goal for 2026 is this: keep going. Don't force things, but embrace the creative spark when it hits. I've always said if a single person finds enjoyment in my work, then it's been a success. My hope is to keep providing entertainment and brief mental vacations from the world around us.

Obligatory sentimental year-end post:

2025 had its challenges. There's one very large challenge I'm still navigating and probably will be for a while.

But you know what? It was a good year. This was the year I fell in love with writing again, and I was terrified that would never happen.

Congrats!! That's so exciting! I'll be rooting for you through it all. 💜
