finally, you will be true a souls gamer
weirdest one for me was like a 12 review game hitting me with over a dozen clown reacts... game was like nothing special, but I guess they had a strong discord (but not all of them bought it lol)
favorite is the 0 review game with 1 react, dev did it. better than responding to each negative review
HORSE ๐ LIFE ๐
there were some reviews where I wasn't even being an asshole or saying anything controversial, just saying "I dont really like this one" and it still got clown reacts. sometimes it was clear the dev had a fan club and you'd get a bunch, other times it's a no review game, like... dev did this lol
and yet my steam profile forever has the taint of clown react lol
idk how long ago they did it, but I find it extremely funny steam overhauled their whole awards system for posts (mostly reviews) probably because the clown award was used almost exclusively in a toxic way lol ๐คก
I barely saw any other one get used lol
also somehow one of the funniest games I've ever played
found a bug in slay the spire 2
oh people freaking out over 1 bad steam review are weird. same caliber as like some small businessman freaking out over a single bad amazon review out of like 20 where none of the words are spelled right. consumers seem to care way more about amount of reviews than quality from what I've seen.
tbh I hated that weird journo with the waluigi profile pic more than the dev making an ill advised remake. that guy was a weirdo
my freaking wizard emote

I'm so good at dying on the final turn of the final boss, especially running a doom build with the skeleton with enough doom for the boss to die when the turn is over
no, he just gives me a shitload of cards
Bing Bong, he gives you double cards when you add cards to your deck. traveler of many indie game realms, owner of an airline
I really love the trend of Bing Bong showing up in other random games. I hope he becomes the new shovel knight ๐ love this funky fella. slay the spire is like the 3rd time I've seen him outside of peak
oh yeah forgot to mention it, but the best demo was withering realms. rooms was already sick, but now we have another souls-like I'm hyped for. they went and made it 3D, faster, harder and deeper is what it looked like. had a real blast, I'm infected with withering realms brainworms now, help!
illusion python that only exists at the corner of your eye, but if you look upon the snake directly, it's no longer there

Steamed Demo Roundup ๐ค checkin out some new nextfest demos, aint got as much as the last time, but maybe they got more heart, maybe their tier is a higher rarity or some such ๐ค either way, think we got mostly bangers in here, come check it out

it's a useless but free event that already only rewards those that pay to market before it or use social media well already. for me though, it gets too hard to find anything new. would rather there be like thousands less bad games if more serious games that actually come out are there/easier to find
no, I'm seeing the same game in the same nextfest. they just show up in multiple categories all the time, so using their giant menu to browse categories is useless unless you are into something that is naturally really lean with few games in it (eg: sports games)
yeah, demos can only be in 1, or at least I still think that's true. demos will just show up a bit before nextfest happens on steam though, and then stay after.
oh, and this year I had at least half a dozen randos come into my chat, when I haven't even streamed game demos yet this week (that's tomorrow) begging me to play their demo. like dude, this thing has just become so saturated...
there's too many game demos, there's more each time, and the amount of boring ones just keeps going up and drowning out the rest. on top of that, it feels like they make it slightly harder to browse through the thing every time. you end up just cycling repeats a bunch more each event.
they really ought to make nextfest twice a year and charge devs a fee for being included in it. every third of a year, I find less and less demos that aren't from games on my wishlist and it gets harder to find new games I didn't already know about.
