I'd stay well away from the Labour Party, mate, they're full of shit as well.

As far as I can see the latest change is Keith’s missions have now become milestones.
What a brilliant government we have.
We’ll get our chance again, the Labour Party’s dead and we can expect a new party of the left very soon.
Stay positive comrade!
You’re def doing your bit with insightful posts, always in tune with your stuff ✌️
A socalist government could sort all that out – we should NEVER give up on that aspiration!
I do like the idea of being part of a progressive social clique, though, we need a bit more of that kind of thing.
This means we don’t have any interest payments to worry about at all; and ‘the national debt’ is actually a GOOD THING because it means its flip side, surplus, is being used in the economy before it’s taxed out of existence.
Hi @callymeg.bsky.social I’m definitely concerned about others and how some are forced into debt by western capitalism, but my point was about our own economy.
I don’t know what source you’re quoting here, but the UK doesn’t ’borrow’ money, it creates it – and the government alone decides how much.
But these would be countries that don’t have a sovereign currency?
Unlike the UK, which does (so we don’t have to pay interest to anyone).
Are they literally ALL brainwashed?

Public school-educated news hacks ringing round asking each other why's it so important what the International Cricket Council thinks?
Meanwhile we await some compassion for those in poverty from our actual government.

Not the first letter to make this sensible suggestion, and doubtless not the last to be ignored by Sir Starmblair and team.
These two things taken together – and announced on the same day – definitely give the impression that we’re governed by a bunch of complete f©️kwits
Couple of issues with this, BBC:
1. #FuckKeirStarmer for blaming nurses and unions
2. We don't 'borrow' money, we create it

Whether or not Rachel Reeves lied to get where she is, I don’t know – what’s more worrying is, she clearly doesn’t understand where money comes from in our economy.
The UK has a sovereign currency, ££s, so it’s the government alone that decides how much money to create and what to spend it on.
🙄
I think most people voted (erroneously) to GTTO rather than start a feckin war with Russia. www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024...
I think if you either can’t or pretend not to recognise a genocide when you see one, then you shouldn’t be allowed to govern a country.

✊ Hi John from Hastings, UK
100% of the bewildered old eejits would vote for Boris Johnson an’ all.
Look fwd to the day that all news media take proper, meaningful notice of reports of islamophobia.
We need a culture shift.

Time to replace the House of Lords with an elected version.
