My dream scenario was for the Philadelphia 76ers to go deep in the playoffs the year that "Moses and the Doctor" came out. The Sixers--they'll break your heart.

We're barely a year in and this administration has lost the plot entirely.
If you need me over the next eight months, Iβll be right here, on the playground.
At that stage of parenthood where my body aches after a weekend with my daughter....
The general problem I've had over the past year with business and finance types who should know better is that in their support for the president they refused to price in that at least once a year he was going to do something mind-blowingly dumb, whether with tariffs or Iran.
Hard to believe but this is a review of my latest book.
If there are any friends from Arizona on here, I'll be at the Tucson Festival of Books next weekend, doing panels on Saturday and Sunday at 2:30. I'll be presenting with some amazing authors: Keith O'Brien, Christine Brennan, Mark Kriegel, and SL Price. Come say hi.
My daughter has discovered puddles. RIP our laundry.
Watched the new Paul McCartney documentary and came away with a key insight: McCartney's coolness factor is inextricably tied to his haircut--early Beatles moptop (mostly cool), late Beatles long hair (cool), early Wings mullet (very uncool), late Wings moptop (mostly cool).
Could we wait another twenty years or so to fall fully out of love with nonfiction? I'll probably be done writing books then.... www.theguardian.com/books/2025/d...
This book is incredible in case you need a recommendation and like this sort of thing. @lukeepplin.bsky.social

The folks who were accused of having "TDS" might've been onto something all along....
So glad you liked it. And it's funny--I often don't run into people who have friends in Terre Haute, a town I visited often as a child.
Just based on the reviews I've read today, I'd say that "The Bride!" has the best shot of any movie released over the past few years of garnering a cult following a decade down the line.
If this is the last time that Stephen Colbert and Steve Carrell banter on TV, they went out on a high note. I had no idea that Carrell was Chris Farley's understudy at Second City, and had to do the van down by the river sketch in his absence. www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6jx...
I'm a sucker for stories about extreme collectors, and I loved this one about a guy whose obsession was finding photographs of every single player who played professional baseball for the Cleveland franchise. Respect. www.nytimes.com/athletic/704...
Well, unless you exclude the movie "The Fish That Saved Pittsburgh"....
Not that anyone should require extra incentive to see "Marty Supreme," which is a fun movie, but George "Iceman" Gervin appears in a supporting role. The Iceman can act.
Thanks so much! So glad to hear in particular that this book lives up to the first one.....
the cover to "Moses And The Doctor: Two Men, One Championship, And The Birth Of Modern Basketball" by Luke Epplin
last night I finished my 4th book of 2026 and probably my favorite non-fiction I've read in a while. @lukeepplin.bsky.social is 2 for 2 on riveting sports narratives and anyone who loves basketball should read this; I feel like we don't talk enough about how influential Dr. J was to the modern game
I had the distinct please of interviewing @lukeepplin.bsky.social about his fantastic new book βMoses and the Doctorβ youtu.be/yarAeAhKrhg?...
To be fair, a lot of them are radio folks, and I imagine that they have to interview scores of people every week. So I get it.
I've done a dozen interviews over the past three days and have become good at sussing out immediately who's read the book and who hasn't, and tailoring my answers accordingly.

Thank you, @lukeepplin.bsky.social. Looking forward to reading this!
Got a nice recommendation from a bookseller at the great Parnassus Books in Nashville. To my Philadelphia friends, you might not want to read the last sentence.
I'm recording a podcast tonight at 9, and I've become so old that I now consider that to be impossibly late. How will I ever stay up?
Look, it's a fool's game in 2026 to make statements like this, but just imagine if Obama had challenged Dunkin' to prove that drinking its coffee is safe....
That makes more sense--a cheesy song deserves to be in a cheesy movie.
Count me in!
