A Ph.D. in Politics and International Relations sick of the lies and idiocy in today's politics. EU27/Nordics, not a "remoaner" when it comes to Brexit. Gathering strength to 'enjoy' the geopolitical shitshow called Trump's second term. Slava Ukraini.

Aside of the fact that it's pretty hard to make stats on irregular migrants before they are detected, I think you are now disproving your own point about 'no deterrent' from the common EU asylum system.
I presume the White House forgot to give him his job description. Certainly the very stable genius would otherwise be producing coherent policy decision that he had actually prepared in advance on the issue. Greetings from Europe.
What in your experience tells you that the Welsh, just like the English etc., would not be expecting the EU to unify our 3rd country immigration rules to mitigate Brexit? (Sarcasm warning.)
The definition of deterrence is in what does not happen, not what happens that is it was the smaller number of applications, not the returns themselves, given returns were always voluntary. Now, so to say, there are no speedoguns to deter speeding.
4) That is, Brexit resulted in the UK having to treat every new applicant as a fresh applicant (as in failed asylum seekers from the EU can make their way to the UK for a 2nd application) and no deterrent called return. Plus a lucrative grey economy to attract irregular migrants.
3) On the whole, the point of Dublin agreements is not the returns, but the policy of 'only one asylum application inside the EU based on recognition of each others asylum decisions and common fingerprint etc. databases, which the UK has lost access to.
2) Deportations are not the same thing as returns under the Dublin agreements. Deportation is typically to the home country. Returns under Dublin have always been voluntary thus mainly involving applications that had been progressed, decided or involved family connections.
Let me explain:
1) Most illegal immigrants arrive legally on a visa or visa-free and overstay. This is enabled by the fact that the UK does not track people leaving the country, which creates complications for proving that the person has over-stayed.
Complete bullocks. Here are the stats from your own government: www.gov.uk/government/s...
c) ...or to cases of family relations. That is, the point of the Dublin system is not returns but 'only one asylum application in the EU'. And this is what Farage and other idiots never understood. That is, they made the arrival of Syrian asylum seekers easier, not harder.
b) That is, the UK does not have access to those databases anymore, hence it will have to treat any application as a new application, unlike EU countries. Dublin returns were always voluntary, typically being limited to cases decided, progressed further than initial application or ...
a) The point of Dublin is not returns, it's the access to fingerprint and asylum application databases that prevent people from filing applications in multiple EU countries, as decisions in other EU members are mutually recognised.
Nope nope. I knew in 2017 that the UK would get out of the EU asylum system and advised failed asylum seekers in the EU to make their way to the UK. The response times in Dublin is 3 months, which is why numbers would always increase 3m ahead of the next possible Brexit date. Why? Let me explain:
It's tricky, because people do not understand the system, hence Farage can deny the fact by saying 'Dublin never functioned' etc. The point of Dublin agreements is not returns, but access to fingerprint etc. databases that prevents 2 applications in the EU. Not anymore in the UK.
Nah. They are going for the Swiss deal without freedom of movement except for the touring artists etc.
You already have freedom for your businesses and you already exercise your sovereignty. What has that got to do with the EU?
I am afraid we are ruled by idiots now.
No, but you are. I am sorry, but the insanity in the US has already progressed too far. You are going to go fascist. The right wing has all the guns that will prevent you from doing anything about the guns. Greetings from Europe.
This interview, which is also available to listen to as a podcast, provides a useful overview of some of the dangerous trends weβve been seeing in recent months regarding federalization and militarization of state and local police functions.
Yeah, I personally think that given Donny's dementia, he's remembering more and more the earlier things he did wrong like pedo stuff, which is why, because he's been told he has not got long to live, he is starting panic about not going to heaven.

Hahaha. That is my life basically, but the panda is approaching it with much more zen.
I really do not understand what your claim is for making people voteless, but I am ready to hear it, if it is a more valid reason than disagreeing with your opinions. In my books the right to vote is an inalienably right tied to citizenship. Including a right to vote for criminals.
In 2016 they had a vote, if they had not been resident abroad for more than 15 years. It changed only in 2022 so that all British citizens keep their vote now.
Dear lord. As if spouses that are 3rd country nationals have a right to stay in Schengen/EU without a permit in the EU for more than 90/180 days.
I can't wait for the EES...
We have fewer entitled idiots, probably, given we just emerged from the forest a couple generations ago π
Hahah. Good for you.
Yeps, education can only mitigate idiocy. We try here in Finland, but some things are just natural facts.
