Yeh exactly, I always think of pterosaurs who had a huge advantage over birds because of their powerful wing muscles that they used to lift themselves off the ground. I feel it wouldn't make much sense if dragons didn't use their giant wing-arms to lift off.

The recent dragon pieces that @nicholaskole.bsky.social did inspire me a lot as well as the new DND dragon designs from Aleksander Ostrowski.
