Ah, the old-school version with the cardboard doors. I need to break out my board soon.

RPG tip from the archive: Build historical layers to your dungeons. What is it now? What did it used to be? And what before that?

This sounds awesome. πβοΈ
I'm playing the Ghostwalk campaign, and my character finally died. Now, I can begin to play him as an eidolon. What killed him, you ask? A dire weasel, that's what. Those things bite and don't let go.

RPG tip: Small three-room dungeons are a fun way to spend an evening. Every dungeon need not be a sprawling megaplex.

F.O.R.G.E. (Fantasy Open Roleplaying Game Engine) is so damn good, I've been too distracted by F.O.R.G.E. to play in my other solo campaigns. I can't recommend a better game engine for OSR games.

Iβm working on a thing: tell me about your favorite solo TTRPG, the more obscure the better. Iβm going to have an opportunity to write about more TTRPG stuff in the future and I would like to do some specific solo RPG writeups

F.O.R.G.E. is an astoundingly good solo TTRPG engine: It combines the best parts of the Mythic Game Master Emulator, 2nd Edition and the Ironsworn RPG for OSR and B/X compatible games.
I've momentarily put down some of my other projects to bring F.O.R.G.E. to Greyhawk.

TFW you drop an owlbear with your first attack. Huzzah!

First impression of the F.O.R.G.E. ttrpg: Finally, all the tools I'm looking for in one place!
GM Tip: Allow enemies to flee, surrender or negotiate. Not every encounter should end in death, and morally gray outcomes keep players guessing.

For *my* group, I meant to post.
I think I average about 13 encounters in a 4-hour period. I suppose that would be about six fights and 3-4 scenes of exploration and 3-4 scenes of social interaction per session, according to your breakdown. That's a fairly decent pace for group.
Here's a look at the new Ironsworn reference guide (available Tuesday, June 3!) by @thebadspot.bsky.social.

After 5 sessions and 102 moves, I completed the Basic D&D adventure Ghost of Lion Castle. I made it through with the first pregenerated character, Nathel, and had 4 hit points remaining at the end of the adventure.

My new aspiration is to solo game until my books literally fall apart. It is the Solo TTRPG equivalent of crashing the screen on an old Atari game.

I have never before experienced the creeping fear of the dungeon the way I do when I solo game.
