Ooh, I think falafel is one of the few staple items I’ve not gotten from them.

100 percent this.

I think the falafel at Halal Guys is the least ~whelming~ thing on their menu.

(But I only ever get it as a side; maybe it’s better in platters/pitas as a meat alternative.)

(But, y’know, only if there is a stiff drink within arms’ reach.)

Ask me how this is affecting news sites’ election night reporting programs!

Couldn’t find a spot to parallel park their Buick; migrated on to Fairfax.

One interesting note: it can take a few minutes longer than you’d think to purchase these. I’m told they keep them in a walk-in, that they only open so many times in a 15-ish minute window.

Maybe slightly annoying if you hit it at the wrong time — but respect for keeping the product consistent!

I feel a pang of guilt getting them when it’s just us, because homemade biscuit dough comes together easily enough (especially with a Cuisinart!) … but these folks do this for a living and it’s just so very good.

They also recently added chicken & waffles (made with waffles biscuit dough) for any … scruffy, waffle-inclined locals that may be lurking out there.

And their frozen, ready-to-bake biscuits have been great when we’ve had guests stay over.

Yeah, this data beggars belief. No way is New York 68% car / 25% transit / 8% active.

I may look into this methodology more, but for U.S. cities these numbers feel awfully inaccurate.

Watch it, John — if we hadn’t applied for that last $19, two of those flexposts would’ve been 1/8 inch shorter than the rest.

I am super intrigued by this. (Though I’ll confess that I’ve never been able to get behind the flavor of Tabasco — please excuse me if I substitute Crystal + cayenne instead.)

We should talk automation sometime! I’ve been tinkering around with Home Assistant for awhile, also on implausibly outdated Mac hardware. Would be curious what all you have planned.
