And that's just a handful of results from June/July alone. AHRQ's entire annual research budget is $224M. Without it, we will have more infections, higher costs, more diagnostic errors & less evidence-based care. It pays for itself many times over! Please, consider contacting HHS or your local reps.

Heard from #AHRQ that the entire grants staff has been let go! They are unable to issue funds for grants already funded, let alone fund new grants. This is outrageous and will make Americans poorer and sicker. Why? A brief thread about just some recent AHRQ-funded research: #MedSky #HealthPolicy

Exclusive: NIH to dismiss dozens of grant reviewers to align with Trump priorities The move would undo years of work, leaving advisory councils understaffed, and without the full expertise needed for reviews.

In an unprecedented move, the NIH will soon disinvite dozens of scientists who were about to take positions on advisory councils that make final decisions on grant applications for the US agency, Nature has learnt.

Kids DO get more shots now than they did decades ago. There’s also a lot less death from preventable illnesses. That’s a win! Let’s dive into the wonderful world of Vaccine Schedules. The AAP first took ownership of schedules back in the late 1930s and we continue to recommend the vaccine schedule.

Rachel Maddow (@maddow.msnbc.com) "The HHS document says that another paper it cites found 'an increase in placental blood clotting in pregnant mothers who took the vaccine.' But the paper doesn't contain any reference to placental blood clots or to pregnant women." https://www.npr.org/2025/06/13/nx-s1-5431935/rfk-hhs-covid-vaccine-schedule-faq

We can dig it: @maddow.msnbc.com calling bullshit on RFK's #HHS brand of #BadScience

Donald Trump’s proposed budget would gut American science It would slash cancer research, drug trials, space exploration, and so much more.

Cutting $20 billion to NIH over 25 years may save $500 billion on paper, but it’d end up costing $8.2 trillion in lost human health.

But NIH isn't the only thing being cut. The budget also slashes all NSF-funded science by 73 percent. NASA faces “the biggest single-year cut to NASA in history."

The moral of the story: The math ain't mathin'.

Trump's cuts to science spending will damage our economy, leave hundreds of thousands of people jobless, destroy the discovery pipeline, and most importantly, cost lives.

But we are fighting back.

All to save $20B annually. The math ain't mathin.'

quote on a dark blue and purple background from Sudip S. Parikh, CEO of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), criticizing proposed cuts to science funding in the FY26 U.S. federal budget. The quote reads:

“If enacted, the FY26 budget request would end America’s global scientific leadership. The cuts to science would imperil our nation’s future health, security and prosperity. This budget proposal stands in stark contrast to the President’s call for a renewed commitment to American scientific leadership. Congress has demonstrated a bipartisan commitment to investment in research and must do so again to answer the President’s call.”
The quote is attributed to Sudip S. Parikh, CEO of AAAS and Executive Publisher of the Science family of journals. The AAAS logo appears at the bottom right.

I don't think anyone outside of universities, pharma and biotech, independent research institutions have any idea of what is happening right now. If you haven't sounded the alarm among your friends, family and colleagues, now is the time to do it.
