Ahh, kind of you to say, thank you.

Got me thinking about coffee over here.
This is great. Man, getting up to speed with Krita is high on my list once I don't have a project where sticking with the same old familiar tools is really, really beneficial.
I've tried Clip Studio, but if I have to retrain myself, the FOSS option seems so much more appealing, on principle.
Ha ha ha ha, thank you kindly. π
I feel uncertain, posting things like that, but pushing back against the "lone hero" narrative was Theme Number One from Day One on PRACTICAL DEFENCE.
Lone Hero is a seductive idea, but hasn't done our society any favours.
Can I sell that theme AND have explosions and sword fights? TIME WILL TELL
Thank you, David Petersen!!! High five emoji!
Rebecca Solnit quoted on kottke.org, βOne of the great weaknesses of our era is that we get lone superhero movies that suggest that our big problems are solved by muscly guys in spandex, when actually the world mostly gets changed through collective effort. Thich Nhat Hanh said before he died a few years ago that the next Buddha will be the Sangha. The Sangha, in Buddhist terminology, is the community of practitioners. It's this idea that we don't have to look for an individual, for a savior, for an Γbermensch. I think the counter to Trump always has been and always will be civil society. A lot of the left wants social change to look like the French Revolution or Che Guevara. Maybe changing the world is more like caregiving than it is like war. Too many people still expect it to look like war.β
If I may be so boldβ¦
If this thought from Rebecca Solnit speaks to you, you might be on board with my fun little cartoon book. Or at least, that is my humble goal, in the end.
(As quoted at kottke.org/26/03/the-hi... )
"Hey TC, what is all this?"
I am MAKING A BIG COMIC BOOK, a chapter at a time, and posting the finished pages as I go! It's about friendship, finding yourself, and figuring out who the real enemy is.

Coincidentally, Iβm sure, if you scroll down on the timeline, youβll find Ryan recommending Fastmail.
(I am eyeing the escape hatch, personally.)
My brain is tricking me into thinking A is basically B, itβs wild.
You know whatβs weird, is from a quick glance I can barely tell the difference between A and B. So if you want to save yourself some time, maybe just A it.
Literally, you are leaving a behind (as pictured)
Worth sharing on International Womenβs Day. Fucking hell.
Itβs all stomach-churning, but the passage about, βdesigns too many options; seems like sheβs trying too hard; asks too many questions,β as negatives, I just, I dunno, Iβm so mad.
Believe it or not, it was *a gift!* A perfectly normal and good gift, as I'm sure Dan will agree.
I bet you could go a lot of ways with βyoda x lionβ and this is basically perfect
@galegalligan.bsky.social whoof, Iβm only one installment in and that BLAG newsletter is already paying dividends

I bought one for a friend and I think about borrowing it every now and then, Just Because
What Iβm saying is, I support this
Yesterday I saw two ads for different companies saying βweβve made it easier to talk to a REAL HUMAN,β so unless thereβs some sort of monkeyβs-paw thing happening there (likelihood: high), maybe it will happen sooner rather than later (though I feel foolish for daring to hope)

Lucy, NO ONE KNOWS who made that comic, it could have been anyone.
I do remember that βTri-Star Entertainmentβ made Vera B laugh, which I assume would be rewarding for whoever it was.
