It’s so good!! I’ve only watched the UK and US ones but find it very interesting to compare those (eg how chaotic and competitive the American one is by comparison, and then how personally they all take everything). So much social, cultural and psychological analysis to be done 😆

I’m a bit disappointed we’re going to find out so quickly now, but will be interesting to see where things go from here.

It’s that time again. I am seated for the Buckhind Players Christmas panto, for which my lovely wife @sagalauren.bsky.social has done all sorts of behind the scenes magic AND this time she’s playing 3 different roles - Christmas Tree, Stage Manager, and Hype (one of the “7 miners”) 😆 👏 🎄

Really brings you down to earth when you’re all ready for your work Christmas party when the train ticket inspector comes round and the lining of your pocket is ripped so you have to pull the whole thing out & get covered in a pile of old dog treats in the process. I am a very sophisticated person.

But if someone is unable to work due to the impacts of neurodivergence, they can probably much more easily make the case for that as stress, anxiety, depression than sitting on a waiting list for years for a diagnosis (if the goal was accessing benefits)!

100%. If anything, I think a lot of adults who want a diagnosis are hoping it would help them when asking their workplace for reasonable adjustments or general understanding. It’s also v much about seeking to understand the *causes* of wider issues (which may or may not impact on employment).

Now the message is very much that trans people and anyone who supports them are “the enemy”, even if we are literally talking about kids. And I really don’t know where to go from there 😕

Definitely. It would be interesting to actually see a comparison of statements from 8 years ago to 4 years ago to now and observe how much more extreme this has become. It seems the more they get away with, the less they feel the need to pretend. Or they’ve become more radicalised…

Something that strikes me about this is that even if you absolutely do not believe that being trans is valid or “real”, she’s speaking about children. About an organisation being concerned about the impact on children. Boys or not, isn’t it odd to be so hostile about people simply…caring about them?

If you consider something “ruined” because other people, who you’re free to ignore and have nothing to do with, also enjoy it, that’s very much a you problem.

This is just so funny to me because I wonder if the people writing these things even realise that people play DnD however, wherever and with whomever they want — describing other people doing just that with their own friends as an “invasion” is … as silly as you’d expect from the Telegraph, I guess.

Can’t underline this enough really: these cases are a squillionaire giving crackpots money to seek out individual members of the public quietly going about their working day, so they can turn them into national hate figures, hand in hand with our utterly poisonous media outlets. That’s all it is.

Genuine question: do straight people watch Wicked and care about the supposed romantic connection between Elpheba and Fiyero?

Even putting aside all ideas of romance between Elphie & Glinda, with 5 hours devoted to their deep connection, I can’t help but see “Fiyeraba” as empty and shoehorned in.

I lived without central heating for so long (storage heaters we never used, just used a panel heater in one room and fan heater in the other as needed) that I now can’t figure out how I’m supposed to use central heating without feeling like I’m in a sauna.

Modern technology is too much for me 🤣

When the time comes that people have to at least act as if they care about trans people, do not forget and do not forgive a single person associated with this who isn’t speaking out about it now.

Technically more of a refurb than a reno - depending on how strictly you define it - but “Refurbishing Wives” just didn’t have the same ring to it. 🥲

Spoiler: we are also NOT going to do all of it ourselves, because we value our own sanity. But we are doing a lot and we’re very excited 😄

I swear we thought we’d get a lot more than done but it turns out that’s fairly time- and energy-consuming work 🤣
