YAPAPI. Infamous at the time (and now) but probably doesn’t crack the top twenty of absurd moments in 2000 WCW. I forgot Jimmy Hart whispered this on his deathbed apparently.
To hype up an interview with Magnum TA, the NWA…puts you in the car with Magnum on the night of his crash?
There was a time you could turn on Clash of the Champions and see someone get shot in the face
Fun bit of nonsense from Mr. Iguana
Anytime I see a well done Bossman/Black Hole Slam I do the Jeremiah Johnson nod
Find something you love as much as Attitude Era wrestlers love blasting Ken Shamrock in the forehead with a chair
A bit of seemingly forgotten Foley insanity from Breakdown
Always funny to see Scott Hall from this timeframe, it looks like he’s wearing a disguise while working undercover
Picturing the reunited Road Dogg & Billy Gunn feuding with Edge & Christian in AEW about who the best team of all time is and I think I’ll go live in the woods
Begging some figure company to make this version of Ahmed/Big T
That ring didn’t move a centimeter ouch
The Shockmaster’s finisher, if you were curious
Vladimir Petrov’s Russian Hammer. I thought this move was goofy at first, but if a huge dude leapt at me, grabbed me by the throat, and rammed me into the mat I would probably be down for the count.
I think exclaiming CINEMA is a pox on modern wrestling but I did like how this was shot - you think the ref messed up only for the camera to pan and see Masada got his foot on the rope. Too often those rope breaks are badly telegraphed.
We may end up getting a 30 for 30 on the WWE on ESPN era
You can sleep well knowing Randy Orton almost doubled his Elimination Chamber winning percentage tonight, but he’s still only batting .200
I don’t mind EC being yearly since it’s used to set up Mania and isn’t based on a feud, whereas making HIAC an annual deal, whether or not there was a feud that needed it, was an atrocious idea
Tonight at the 37th and 38th Elimination Chamber matches in WWE history. They’re matches I tend to find at least watchable in the moment but ultimately forgettable outside of a few exceptions (largely the first couple). Might be a product of too many matches or a me problem.
Michael Buffer announcing Jesus on Easter
I hope they’re all standing on top of the Chamber like that MITB segment
Spike Dudley eats hot death, SummerSlam 2001
I love Ultimo squeezing Rey’s legs together for a tighter cover, not something you see after sit out power bombs anymore
I hope this fan that brought a Genie puppet to Nitro is still watching wrestling, I’m sure they would delighted by all the puppets that have infiltrated the sport
I’d love to talk to the person who thought up 21 options for who is in the Elimination Chamber crate and the appropriate odds
I love when wrestlers get tossed so high they fly off the top of the screen
Oh that’s nice they won’t call Orndorff “Paula”….HEY WAIT A MINUTE
Hell yeah another wrestling flyer in my local pizza place, come see Matt Riddle vs Carlito at a hotel
