I’m sure this varies jurisdiction to jurisdiction but my experience had always just been well here are the rules, have fun solving equations and figuring it out and no offense I don’t operate that way. Like why is this the way it is. No offense to math teachers but most of them couldn’t tell me
Two bullet points telling me this has been around for thousands of years and that basic concepts will be useful in everyday life don’t help me much
If math classes in primary and secondary education had incorporated more of the philosophical and historical aspects of math .. I think I would have been so much better at it .. don’t just throw fuckin rules and equations at me to solve wtf. I need purpose, history, and intent to be intrigued
While this is true I should say I have always been lucky enough to only ever live with very close friends and have amazing roomie experiences because of it - but I’m so happy to finally find my own solo space
