It is! It's alot easier to spot birds on bare trees. I love the seasons too. It will be fully leafed out by May.
Thanks Andrea, so much character.
Thanks Gwen, I agree.
A grand old Oak tree at a state park in Wisconsin. It sits amongst some yellow and some red dogwood and is flanked on both sides by young birch trees (I think).
Here is a mighty oak amidst some dogwood at a state park. I thought it looked lovely.

Thanks Craig!, That seems like a good possibility. I hope it can recover well!
Thanks Andrea!
A Cardinal is perched on a tree branch. It's late winter approaching spring in Wisconsin. This bird was traveling with a male Northern Cardinal, thinking that this is a female.
So any ideas about this bird? It was with an adult Northern Cardinal. The colors and face markings look strange. Don't know if this is a male, female, or juvie. My guess is a female, but there is hints of a black mask. Love to know your thoughts. Very unique looking.

Thanks Marina, much appreciated! He is looking stunning.
A red-tailed hawk is perched in a tree with an identification band visible. Hoping to see more of the numbers in the future to possibly get a banding record for this bird.
This is the very first time ever that I have seen a banded Red-tailed Hawk. I can only make out three numbers, 218, so I do not know if that is enough to trace back to a small set of records. I do know where this bird lives, so hopefully I can get another view in the future.

A Sandhill Crane is making a bee line for a favorite residential yard after landing at a marsh.
One of the Sandhill Cranes I follow. Only one of the pair from last year has been reported in the area. So glad to see it. I think this is the male, but not 100% sure. We'll see if another makes an appearance, hoping so. #birds #SandhillCrane
Awesome!
Thanks Monika!
Gorgeous Andrea!

Thanks, being able to go out in the winter and see a beautiful habitat with bald eagles using the habitat is a real treat.
Thanks much!

Coming to Sask soooon!
π So happy to see them.
Beautiful!
I was out for an errand last night and saw a Sandhill Crane pair back from migration at one of my birding locations. The pond is still frozen. Happy to say they are back and migration is like well honed clock almost. They arrived one day earlier than last year. No pic, just happy to see them back. π
