it never made sense to me and i’ve been saying since the beginning that if s+ and x rank are supposed to be meant for the best, then make it so

…so people jump to takoroka and tentatek is something that nobody wants to touch

same goes for x rank- it felt very different in the beginning because people who could play in s2 x rank were more or less already eligible when it rolled out in s3. but because of a lack of rank loss i think there are a good number of people with access to x rank who probably shouldn’t be there

maybe i’m coping bc i’m washed LOL but i think that heavily contributes to my experiences with teammates who have very poor game awareness compared to someone in s2 with a similar rank. i lose games, and series sets, and so on. sometimes i feel like i get stuck in holes that are hard to get out of.

my other issue with s3’s system is that rank loss during the season is nonexistent unless you do your one manual reset, or you just don’t play. i think it defeats most, if not the entire point to a ranked mode in a game like this

i stopped paying attention to the pokemon franchise after diamond/pearl and got back into it with scarlet/violet so gen 9 as a whole will always be sentimental to me

the setting for this game looks a lot like southeast asia (which was what i heard from leaks). my dad was born and raised there before coming to the US, so when i saw the overworld for the first time i kinda just broke down crying at my work desk. i’m really glad they’re giving that region some love
