So pleased to have spotted this dew-beaded orange tip resting on cuckoo flower, waiting for the sun
If you buy plants over Easter or afterwards, please source them from a #peatfree nursery, so peatland stays intact with its rare ecosystems & vast carbon-storing potential. There are over 140 growers across the UK on the Peat Free Nurseries List & the number is constantly growing. #gardening #nature
Milo declares wild hat pom pom hunting season is now open
Brilliant news on a Friday afternoon: gov will launch new natural history GCSE. It's taken Mary Colwell, @carolinelucas.bsky.social & others years of campaigning. (I'm praying it'll be introduced quickly enough for my children!)

This is how you do it...
A large Sainsbury’s Store Front with the signs for the other shops laid out underneath. They are Argos Habitat Tu. sounds a bit Latin dunnit. lol eh The fact they left out Specsavers leads me to think they knew what they were doing, and I’m probably just explaining their own joke to them
Oooh, look at Sainsbury’s, with their fancy new Latin motto like they’re bleedin hogwarts

Brief sojourn to Sheffield Winter Gardens today. Very nice too!
The corner post of a wrought iron fence. It's a totally normal fence except that the post is crowned with a lovely, somewhat abstract sculpture of a snail in its shell.
I must have walked by this fence hundreds of times but today I noticed that the posts are crowned with little snail sculptures of varying sizes and poses.
Brrrrr beautiful start to the day #wigan #snow #dogwalks
Welcome to the public domain, THE SKELETON DANCE (1929). 🎞️ 🎶👻 Walt Disney Studios' first Silly Symphony cartoon is a wordless masterpiece of synchronized animation & music featuring dancing skeletons in a graveyard.

Yellow Eye O Yellow Eye
Yellow as the yellow Moon.
Out of the Black Hole of the North
The Ice Age is flying!
The Moon is flying low-
The Moon looms, hunting her Hare-
The Moon drops down, big with frost
And hungry as the end of the world.

I'm wondering if the charity shop will realise... (part 3). Da Vinci meets Tretchikoff's "Green Lady." I had to paint all of this one from scratch. Plus all floral ornamentation replaced by 70s cigarette/booze brands. I might make this one available as a print.

It's a photo of part of my arm with the words "'Horse Piss' in Chinese" written on it in black ink.
Gutted to discover my tattoo actually says 'Horse Piss' in Chinese.
Sunrise from Glastonbury Tor this morning. Lovely colours both before and after sunrise today. Pathway to paradise.
A reminder that Lemn Sissay's gorgeous winter walk to Dent station is being re-shown tonight on BBC4. Lovely television.
Love it. And the poem he quotes…
Pearl fog
Open the door now.
Go roll up the collar of your coat
To walk in the changing scarf of mist.

I'm wondering if the charity shop will realise I've added Clangers and a Clanger Music Boat to Wings of Love, the 1972, kitsch-classic painting by Stephen Pearson...
