Yeah, it's probably also significant that they have years of my data for recommendations. Every time I catch sight of the logged-out interface I run screaming.
In the safety of my own account there is only history and science and musical theater

Oh yeah it's definitely only tolerable because I pay for ad-free, it's the subscription payment I get the most use out of.
But I do suspect the commercial impetus for pivot-to-youtube is more about access to casual viewers than desire to show faces
I listen to YouTube when on the treadmill or folding laundry. Laundry time in particular I wind up trying out totally new-to-me things
Meanwhile my podcast backlog is overflowing
I wouldn't have assumed that I would feel this way, but I almost never listen to podcasts anymore but DO watch multiple talking-head YouTube channels that also have podcasts.
I think in my case it's not video but a preference for streaming over downloading/lower commitment/being fed by algorithm
NGL I'm low-key reeling in "pen fandom." I'm always charmed by the specificity of who counts as a celeb at the SF pen show (usually bloggers and youtubers). LA getting actual celebrities really shifts the vibe 🤯
Star Trek Deep Space Nine scene. And in case you never gave it a fair shake, DS9 is absolutely the real deal good shit. Ok, so here we see a fella named Damar. He's a Cardassian with a "C" not the other ones. He's got a boney ridgey facial structure because he's not human, with spiney features on his face and forehead and around his eyes. And a mega thicc neck too. He's wearing a military shell type armour outfit that also looks hard and tough. He's addressing the camera, as if he's making some kind of announcement. It's 3 screenshots but the visual is all the same. Damar looking serious as a heart attack. Closed caption reads, "RESIST. RESIST TODAY. RESIST TOMORROW." (Also, in case you were wondering, FUCK ICE)
Alts in pic 1
Alt is still in pic one I promise I'm not lying to you go check it'll be there trust me
This is a valid beef, and also I am endlessly delighted by the news from (I think) last year that the kale marketing push was driven by a veggie superfan who pretended to work for Big Kale but actually did it out of love
"this film needs an erotic skin graft, and it's non-negotiable"
If it's who I assume it is based on the hair description, he usually has a second English track available with the slurping noises edited out
She's so goooooddddddd
To be fair I think Kronos has maybe 2-4 sentences of dialogue in season 1 and it's just as a spooky dream voice. Not the most exciting god-cameo on the show but still it's EMMRICH
I'm steeling myself for a rewatch/season 2 because since s1 came out, Nick Borraine (who plays, or at least voices, Kronos) has stolen my heart as Emmrich Volkarin-Veilguard, my new top videogame crush of all time

Ooooh, what a good stack! I loved Sorrowlands, and Some Desperate Glory was my favorite read of 2024! (Dawnhounds didn't really click for me but I understand that this puts me in the minority of its readers)

I'm trying to remember literally anything I did during the Drains Week other than the mechanics of the drains and I can't. Congratulations on Silksong!

Phew. Okay, so, this is tough.
I can't afford to pay for the surgery my beloved Eugenides needs to save his mouth from severe inflammation and infection. I'm chronically underpaid by my day job and already struggling financially.
Please ... I need help. www.gofundme.com/f/gen-sad-ki...
I feel like the Kocari Wilds have to. Also plausibly the Anderfels

I really loved Ezri, I just wish she was the underprepared host of a DIFFERENT symbiont who Jadzia took in as a ward.
I start at the bottom left, and it most closely matches the motions of the "t" at the end of my signature (which does sometimes drift into a star if I do it sloppily)
"Trans ideology, in this telling, is tricking people into thinking that there's nothing wrong with transitioning. That being trans is awesome, and loving yourself is a good thing, and you should live your truest self. And you know what? I subscribe to that ideology whole-heartedly."
I saw it last week and loved it so much. ALW stripped down and belted from a mostly-bare stage turns out to be a very cool and spooky ALW energy.
At this point this is the only thing about my dad's prostate I don't know, and I have no interest in asking
Oooh, thanks for the intel! His performance was a highlight of the show
It's extremely effective if people just do it. Kids' trans sports bans? Oh you want to examine the genitals of all the girls playing sports? That seems like a big problem and people should be worried about you.
Same for bathroom bans
My first thought was that the TOS movies also do this with Kirk and Spock, but the whole show kind of does that with Kirk and Spock. The 90s shows definitely spend more time with the ensemble (I feel like TAS does a better job with the ensemble than TOS)
Photo of a bullet journal spread for Dec 30-Jan 5. 30/31 are stenciled in 1/4-in Leroy, and 1-5 in 3/4-in
Oh hey! I've been collecting drafting stencils in that font, starting from a few that belonged to my late grandfather. I recognized that 3 instantly
