A Proposal to Limit the Harm of US Tariffs on the World’s Poorest Countries It would be better for the US and global economy if the new tariffs were rolled back everywhere. But it would at least help continue the journey to self-reliance through greater potential for export-l...

Collectively the world's poorest countries contribute ~0 to US trade deficit, but exports to US are very important for some of them. Current US tariffs and (even more) tariff uncertainty very bad for them. A cheap and powerful diplomatic win would be to exempt them.

Women bear the brunt of water scarcity and inadequate water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities and services. They also tend to be more adversely affected by water-related disasters. Despite this, women remain underrepresented in decision-making on water resources management and WASH. On average, women comprise only 20% of staff in water utilities globally. To more effectively respond to growing demands for water and sanitation and diverse water needs, water institutions must attract all available talent – including women.

🌊WEESA's March Digest dives into women & water:

πŸ’§ Water scarcity and WASH challenges
πŸ’§ Gender gaps in decision-making
πŸ’§ Why it's important to tap into all available talent

Evidence from #Pakistan suggests that access to safe transport is key to tapping into a large segment of the country’s workforce:
