It’s the result of massive bot activity, downloading data at a scale which our infrastructure has found challenging. We have been finding this across all our metadata resources in recent months.
Crikey!
Repairing lifts seems to be a something that now has major delays. Availability of parts is often given as the reason, but seemingly also lack of contractors.
Phwoar! Pocklington near York. Exposed brickwork we can all admire
There's currently a major fire on Union Street in the centre of Glasgow. There are no reports of casualties, but apparently parts of the building involved have collapsed.

Reflections in the Clyde. I love how the statue at Paisley Road Toll lines up perfectly in the gap between the two modern buildings in the foreground.

The view out the back of the library. The sky is bright blue. The sun is still visible above the horizon.
We don't know what else to tell you but it's Monday night and it's 5pm so it's time for EPISODE EIGHT of 'How light is it in #Orkney at 5pm this week?'
Today has been one of the nicest, lightest, brightest days of the year so far, and right now in Orkney it's

Mar 2: Feast of Ceadda (Chad) (†672). He enjoyed spells as abbot of Lestingeham (Lastingham, North Yorkshire), pictured, and bishop of the Northumbrians. Around 669, he became bishop of the Mercians with a see at Licitfelda (Lichfield, Staffordshire). 📸Helge Klaus Rieder #medievalsky
The world is suddenly alive with song thrushes
Black-and-white scene of a windmill with sails beside stone farm buildings, bare trees and a fallow field.
Tall conical brick windmill with large sails beside a two-story cottage and trees, vintage black-and-white photo.
Holgate Windmill c.1910-1930's
The mill dates from c.1792 and was in production until the early 1930s. It closed due to its unsafe condition after storm damage. The mill was built using local handmade bricks and is unusual because it has five sails, a fantail, and it is double shuttered.

People who always drive inhabit the environment in a peculiar and limited way, insulated them from the world and the risks they create. One good argument for multi-modal living - ok, drive when you must, but also walk, cycle or take the bus - is that it supplies a richer perspective on the world.
A beautiful building
A very large white stone doorway with ‘Tribunal correctionnel’ carved over the lintel. There is a severe-looking stone woman either side of the huge metal double doors, now green with age.
A suitably intimidating Parisian door for #ADoorableThursday. Quai des Orfèvres. 📸 my own.
Lovely images. Any chance you could add text text so that all can benefit from them? You can change your setttings to prompt you each time. Thanks in advance
Absolutely.
Me too seemingly. Especially on trains!
I really enjoy little interactions with people. Once had a fascinating chat with someone from India on the platform at Aachen station. Started with translating the muffled delay announcement and ended up discussing perceptions of Britain post-Brexit.
If you’re lucky and the weather’s ok, going south you can see Lincoln cathedral from the East Coast mainline.
Wow, blast from the past!
**CORRECTION** Society members hard at work onsite today would like it known they will give ANY family history enquiries a go, not just York and district. You heard it here, folks 😍

Is this relevant to the history of Buckinghamshire? No.
But is it funny? Also no.
