Its been a long time since I last posted here but I have returned, hopefully permenantly!
Hi, I'm Alastair and I'm an author from the UK.
I'm currently working on two fantasy novels, one about the adventures of a sentient, magical hat, while the other is about a group of immortal knights

Sometimes I think my story ideas are bad, then remember I started planning a fantasy novel from the perspective of a sentient magical hat that really wanted to go on adventure, and remember my ideas are actually incredible 😂

Hello, it's me again. I've not posted in a while as I've found writing quite hard recently.
Lost my job and was unsuccessful in applying for one I was really confident for so I've been a little unmotivated
However, I saw concept art for my debut novel today and I'm so excited again! 😊

Got some free time while waiting for a pickup so it's time to break out the pen and paper for some writing and maybe even a little reading 😊

It's been a long day but I'm feeling up for short writing session this evening 😊

Well that's certainly one way to derail my plans for today a bit!

Just finished our first DnD session of this year. Some unforgiving combat to show how serious things are getting as we finish up this campaign arc, and also a lot of fun to mark the first session in a while

1,000 words written today getting down the outline of the story I can up with yesterday
I'm impressed, both with the amount I managed to come up with while wandering round fields, and the amount of detail I remembered
It has been added to the ever growing list of stories that need to be written 😊

Sometimes I like to pretend Sookie is replying when we talk to him so I do a voice for him.
Except the voice I for this adorable little cat is the voice of Rogal Dorn from If The Emperor Had a Text to Speech Device.

New story ideas always strike in the worst places!
Today it was while climbing over a barbed wire fence into mud that reached halfway up my shins.
Really liking the outline I have so far though 😊

If you'd told me a week ago, in -6 weather with ice and snow, that I'd be out working in a t shirt today, I wouldn't have believed you.
Wouldn't have believed it could be this warm in the sun too

500 words written in half an hour this evening 😊

Time for a little bit of writing I think.
Before I end up feeling too tired now I'm sitting down!

It's a wet and windy day but I'm going to get through these fields so I can go home and write some more this evening! 😊
It's what keeps me going through the worst weather out here

I'm really looking forward to that as I've so many ideas written down over the last year for other projects to start!

It just hit me today that I'm on the 11th of 12 short stories in the collection I'm writing.
It seemed like such a big project when I started it and now there's only one more story to go until it's finished (minus another story split up through the book and the work needed to actually publish)
