I have to periodically remind myself that a lot of men don't read (or at least they don't read quality material and fiction). I circulate almost entirely in nerd writer circles and I know a bunch of men absolutely obsessed with books and reading. I often forget, we're the weirdos.

Thank you for mentioning Andrew Vachss. Reading Strega as a teen was the first time I ever thought there might be someone out there who cared what had been done to me. He was a mentor and friend. He was a tough person for a lot of folks to interact with, but I'll vouch for him. He was a good man.
