I hate the dismissive way politics-heads talk about lefties having “purity tests” as an insult. It’s such a sneer.
But looked at another way - what it really means is that they have DIFFERENT purity tests.
E.g. if we demand full trans rights, that’s supposedly a purity test. Why?

I also remember a lot of Metroidvania/Castleroid arguments back on old iterations of the Insert Credit forum as well, but those posts have been lost to time for ages now.
Who coined "Metroidvania"? It wasn't @jparish.bsky.social, and he'll be the first to tell you. Besides, there are far more interesting questions, like: How did it spread? Evolve? And what's it got to do with rickrolling?
