Have spent today designing and refining cards for the adventure game, and will continue to get more done this evening as the spirit moves me. There was a lot of pondering on theme vs. complexity and so forth today, and I've stuck by my historical trends, since they seem to have worked pretty well.
Time to make the donuts...I mean cards. Time to make some cards.
Up late after a long but productive day with my adventure game in progress. Managed a walk today also, and the park was generous with the number of deer I saw - either nine or ten, as I wasn't sure if I double-counted one.

I find jigsawplanet.com invaluable for destressing my brain when it gets worked up. I just do a little 140-180 piece puzzle and it usually distracts for long enough to chill out.

UFO 50 has been a lot of fun so far. I'm very bad at most of the games, but that's okay. It's not about being good at them, it's about having fun exploring around in it and seeing all sorts of mysterious stuff that I hope pays off eventually, ideally without me needing any online info.
The one bit of advice I'll give you with it is play Pilot Quest early on. You want to start it sooner rather than later from what I can tell.
Picked up the physical of UFO 50 for switch and started dinking around with it tonight, hence my late bedtime. Overall some fun stuff in there so far. I like the little continuities between games that I've noticed.

Spent the morning mocking up a bunch of tokens for my adventure game. It's coming together nicely, and I think I can play a version of it in about a month or so. There's a certain amount of little paragraph stories I need to even test it out. Still, feels like I've been making good progress.
It was a 4 deer walk today. They were heading in my direction and stopped when they noticed me, so I finished taking a couple photos and went on my way so they could pass by in peace.
Looks like it will be a warm-ish week here, so I'm gonna do a lot of walking and hopefully see some deer. I'll be working on my adventure game as well. Take care of yourselves, and understand that making yourself sick with worry doesn't fix anything, it just makes you sick.
Swapped over to Tabletopia and never looked back. Best of all, playtesters don't have to own a copy, they can just use a browser.
The Snufkin game is one I had a really good time with. Two thumbs up. Very mellow and fairly easy, but fun.
I find I can only stare at columns of numbers for so long before I fall asleep at the desk.

It's such a nice change of pace from all the spreadsheet work that I need to do - something to do with my hands instead of my brain. I often try to line things up so I'm doing different parts of projects at the same time to swap back and forth as the mood hits.
Be kind to yourselves, and do literally anything other than watching the state of the union tonight. No one needs to deal that much SAN damage to themselves. I recommend watching a nice comedy, listening to some music, or reading a good book.
Got the car back. Since they couldn't track down any issue, they gave me half off the diagnostic charge, and I had em change the oil at least. They recommended I try getting it a tune-up and I'll pencil that into the not-too-distant future. Overall, not the worst mechanic I've had.
Heard back on my car. They couldn't get it to replicate the stalling issue I had and the system hadn't given off any errors, so who knows on that. I'm having them change my oil and I'll get it back tomorrow morning. Hopefully it just got over itself.
The adventure game I've been working on is really just a mashup of a bunch of my favorite things. I can't wait until I can start talking about it in public, but until then, just know that I'm having a great time putting it together.
One of the very best things about not going to Gen Con any more is not having to participate in Gen Con Housing any more. The lack of any accommodation for professionals that weren't exhibitors was...delightful.
They need to pull in just any random IT tech to testify in front of the government when they discuss this sort of stuff. "Good god, no. Don't do that. People can't even be trusted not to click weird links."
I really should just keep an image of the Home Alone movie poster saved for use as a reaction for when I am totally the most surprised ever.
It's always a warm, fuzzy feeling to scroll through the timeline and see they've vanished.
Hmm, I see that it's "mute the name of yet another billionaire on society media" o'clock again.
