This is exactly right. The Onion quietly left Twitter a month ago and... our weekly subscribers went up. It's because we're doing well here, on Instagram and on YouTube.
As a business, being on Twitter is somewhere between useless or detrimental, unless you're selling boner pills.
Worst of all, it appears to be the only way the FBI targets people for investigations. It looks at Laura Loomer's little Jigsaw from Saw panopticon feed and determines who to target next. There is no professional or personal use case for being on Twitter in 2026. It's an engagement trap for racists.
