For the Great Depression unit I would recommend - Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse (Follows young Billie Jo as she deals with the loss of her mother, the destruction of their farm, and life during the Dust Bowl).

For the 20’s unit I would recommend - The Roaring Twenties: Discover the Era of Prohibition, Flappers, and Jazz by Marcia Amidon Lusted: it provides an engaging overview of the era’s pop culture, prohibition, and the stock market, and it’s written for young readers.

Herein lies the problem we face today. We have an Executive Branch that operates openly above the law because it has been empowered by John Robert’s Supreme Court. The Bondi DOJ operates like a mob boss capo to enforce the will of its leader, not the law for the people.
The judiciary depends on the executive branch to carry out its decisions, relying on the President's duty to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed". A fundamental aspect of enforcement is the public's and government's belief in the rule of law.
Federal judges' rulings are primarily enforced by the U.S. Marshals Service, the executive branch's enforcement arm, which executes court orders, but courts also use federal prosecutors, contempt powers (fines/arrest), and can appoint other officials (like local police) for enforcement

I’m having a blast riding around in Vegas using ride shares from Uber and Lyft. Talking with the drivers and hearing their stories are fascinating! Just spoke with a guy who is Zimbabwean living here in Vegas. The back story made the drive worth the price of the trip.
