NC State University is pausing hiring of faculty and staff. Provost Warwick Arden announced the change in a memo to deans today. The freeze comes as the Trump administration has ordered several policies reducing federal research funding for universities.
North Carolina A&T State University has fallen just short of a major stated goal: attaining a "Research 1" classification from the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
