Back in 2004 I left the Jungle Cruise. I would be back 2 other times, but this was the end of an era for me⦠Still friends with most of the people here #DisSky #Junglecruise #Skipperlife
When the Enchanted Tiki Room opened in 1963, it cost an extra $.75 for guests to see the show. In 2015 dollars, that is about $5.65, for a 15 minute show. This image from a set of images from the opening week of the show, where you have Walt showing the Tiki hosts the amazing sights and sounds.
Another great look at the Jungle Cruise dock, circa 1960. This was a great angle for this photo, off the back of a departing boat, and shows the 2nd floor observation tower, as well as the loading area.

They took too many notes from Piratesβ success. I honestly think if this movie had a lot more βRomancing the Stoneβ type of adventure it would have connected better with audiencesβ¦
The early days of the Jungle Cruise had a lot of costume variations. Somehow, flip flops for loaders would not last long.

A little Friday morning magic... This time from 1956. The Jungle Cruise had only been open a year, and the Irrawaddy Woman was still the pristine pride of the fleet. (Except for the giant scrape down the side...) This one feels like a Kodachrome slide, and check out the costume on the dock worker
Howdy Blueskyβ¦ so far I like what Iβm seeingβ¦
