Oh definitely itโs gotten worse to type on a phone screen! If anything we should all be well practiced by now, but I make so many more mistakes than I used to, often on the same word over and over. I have to believe theyโve shifted the settings somehow and not that we all have become gnarled ๐

Missing my rug tufting process since moving house and need to get my station set up again. I definitely want to make (and actually finish the backings!) more of these snake rugs/pillow fronts. Do you like the lighter or darker background better?

A portrait oriented illustration of a sweet reindeer shown in profile from the the shoulders up with kind eyes and a gentle smile. Its antlers are adorned with baubles and a string of colorful felt balls. It wears a Nordic red collar with jingle bells. Two cardinals perch on the antlers and a robin is flying in carrying a sprig of holiday berries. The background is a crisp icy aqua color filled with playful asterisk-style snowflakes. A decorative border in green and red diamonds moves around the four sides.
Another illustration I made for this past yearโs holiday play, inspired from the prompt โcreatures of the northโ from art agent Jehane Ltd.โs Christmas challenge.

Skye stands in front of a floor to ceiling bookshelf wearing a gray-green long sleeve top and faded jeans. Her hair is long, dark and curly, and she has a cheerful daisy earring showing. The bookshelves behind her are white and the colorful books look airy and bright in the natural light.
New year, new studio portrait. A little older, a lot more books! Every summer my familyโs road trip vacation includes visiting as many small bookstores as we can in the area we are visiting and this year I may have collected the most books in one trip yet. #booknerd #artistportrait

A statue of a horse above a doorway in Pioneer Square, Seattle, is backed by the famous Smith Tower and Columbia Tower, two prominent Seattle buildings, and flanked by an old fashioned three bulb street lamp. Columbia towerโs top floors are faded into mist and gray sky.
A small white and gray gull seabird stands on a wet cement ledge looking out at a gray sea. In the background the edge of an islandโs trees jut out into the frame, but fade into mist at the horizon line.
A few misty morning scenes from Seattle and Vashon Island while passing through. Love the way things just start to blur away at the edges on a misty day.

A cheerful front door I passed by in my neighborhood. I love that rooster so much! Also Iโve never seen stairs quite like these, so eye catching!

Happy February! Here is an illustration I made from the prompt โOver the Snowfieldsโ for a holiday art challenge with art agent Jehane. It harkens back to my childhood in Iowa, which was full of much, much snow. But that meant many opportunities for sledding!

A cheerful photo of me in a rainbow check wool coat and bright green hat walking on a sidewalk painted in a rainbow pattern on a sunny winter day.
A selfie of me smiling in a bright green wool hat and colorful coat posing with my three pet chickens in front of their coop.
Hello Blue Sky friends! Iโm here hoping to bring some color and joy to your day through art and daily ephemeral observations. Here is my winter vibe and a little selfie with my chickies.
