The latest release in the “Beer Hug” series from Goose Island Beer is Big Hazy Pineapple Beer Hug, an imperial hazy IPA that joins the ranks of the bear-themed lineup. The series focuses on higher-strength IPAs; Goose Island sent me Big Hazy to review.

@portlandcider.bsky.social is heading into spring with 2 new imperial ciders joining its lineup—Imperial Blackberry Lime and Imperial Passion Fruit. Blackberry Lime is now part of the core year-round ciders; Passion Fruit is a spring seasonal. Both are 8.4% ABV.

This year marks the tenth annual Baker’s Dozen Fest which returns to Portland on Saturday, April 11, taking place at The ZED at Zoiglhaus Brewing. This specialty fest features 13 breweries paired with doughnuts from 13 bakeries along with coffee from 13 roasters.

For the first time ever, Double Mountain Brewery is releasing beer and cider in cans, expanding upon its refillable bottle program to align with customer expectations. The first beers in cans are Hop Lion IPA and Pilsner, and Dry Cider is the first cider.

It's such an unseasonably nice day here for February that I opened up a beer to match. This "33" Oregon Pale from Gold Dot Beer fits the bill, brewed for Market of Choice. It's made exclusively with Oregon malt and hops from Goschie Farms, celebrating the bounty of Oregon's Willamette Valley.

As part of the Dry January marketing that various companies have been doing, Guinness reached out to offer samples of Guinness 0, its non-alcoholic version of the flagship stout. I received two cans to revisit the NA beer, which I first reviewed three years ago.

I’ve never had a Brazilian-Style Strong Ale before, but Xicha Brewing brewed this one in collaboration with Cheers to the Land, a partnership between craft brewers and the Oregon Agricultural Trust. It’s quite tasty and unique, one worth seeking out. Cheers!

Seattle’s Elysian Brewing is dipping its toe into the non-alcoholic beer pool with the release of its first NA beer, Easy Dust IPA, a non-alcoholic addition to its Space Dust lineup—just in time for Dry January. It’s listed with less than 0.5% and 25 IBUs.
