The background is a bright magenta. At the center, there is a rounded rectangle with a white and pink gradient. On the left, a large pale pink circle contains the word "BIBLIO" in bold, outlined letters. Next to it, the word "GRAPHY" is in a large bold pink font, with the word "Queer" above it. A black circle in the bottom right corner contains the text "Registration required!" Below the central rectangle, in white text on the magenta background, is "QUEER BIBLIOGRAPHY IN THE SOUTH

Three panel comic. Panel 1: people playing basketball in front of a crowd. The player with the ball is up against a guy playing close defense. Panel 2: the player attempts to spin off the defender by shoulder checking him, but the defender immediately falls apart, revealing multiple little green elves. Panel 3: the first player looks astounded at the floor. On it is a group of mildly injured elves surrounded by pieces of a human costume. This was pretty challenging to type out in text form but I tried my best

I AM THE MIRACLE GIRL
For years, Graceware has gotten away with abusing the DMCA because they've targeted large platforms that comply quickly with takedowns, or individuals without the resources to push back.
Then they fucked with us, a non-profit organization with a special interest and an expert legal team. Whoops!
Digital sketch of a virtual tour of a digitization lab. A person (me!) stands and points at a red cat lit by two lights and being photographed from overhead in a dark room. On the left side is a label reading, "Stats: Capture Hardware, Capture Accessories, Capture Software, Editing Software." It's a little silly...
conference proposal is coming together super well actually thanks for asking
Because I am nothing if not committed to the bit (and because we could all use a laugh in these dark times), I commissioned an artist to make fanart of a certain moment from @binarybreak.bsky.social.
Internet, I would like to introduce you all to Baloney!Kat the Hormelculus (art by Emory Daye).
Good for them.

We are training undergrads (18-22) to digitize vcr tapes, cassettes, and vinyl. We introduce phrases like "rewind" into their vocab and made diagrams of what a tape looks like from 6 angles. And we get questions like "how do I rewind a record" which is understandable but turns my bones to dust.
Undefeated
No, it isn't parents who should decide what kids can read.
No, it isn't politicians either.
And no, it isn't librarians.
Readers are who should decide what they read. Age doesn't come into the right to read.
Not sure how many different ways I can say this.

In September, a box of old film reels was donated to the Library's National Audio-Visual Conservation Center. One of them was a nearly 130-year-old, long-lost film by iconic French filmmaker George MΓ©liΓ¨s. It had not been seen by anyone in likely more than a century. π§΅

In the past year, metro Atlanta saw more evictions than all of New York Cityβdespite having *one-quarter* the renters.
Multiple Atlanta apartment complexes averaged an eviction a day.
"The numbers are mind-blowing," said Grace Hartley of Princeton's Eviction Lab.

It is very satisfying to just tell a reading "no you are wrong" in an enduring way.
I realize this amounts to a librarian hot take or whatever, but I just love writing in books so much. Also putting down the date and circumstances under which I got a book. π
Also, while I'm here, cutting up books for collages/art is cool and good. Engage with your books in ways that make you happy
