I was honestly so moved that it felt like I was given a huge jolt of energy. I didn’t think something I said would have such a big effect. I was reminded of the responsibility I have to these kids and that’s enough to keep me going
A student from my first class back in 2018 is graduating high school this year and she’s doing it as valedictorian! When she was in 8th grade, I guess I told her she would be her class’s valedictorian when the time came. I forgot, but she didn’t; she reached out to me the other day to tell me.
As some of you know I’m a teacher so I want to share that next year will be my 8th year teaching. May always makes me reflective (more than usual) but those really hard years at the beginning do end up paying off.
