Get an old manual lens and slap it on a modern camera body with an adapter. There are also lots of new manual lenses coming out of china that aren’t very expensive.

Whatever you get, as long as you use it regularly you’ll learn how to get it to take the kinds of photos you want and hopefully have a good time.

The nice thing about cameras now is that you can get nice photos out of pretty much anything. But then you go crazy looking at all the minor feature differences and wondering if image stabilization or dual card slots is worth the cost increase.

think of this as a shot across the bow at $500-750 Microslop plastic trash laptops and a shot at Huawei's pair-with-phone bespoke OS laptops.

and think of this as a fucking 2-in-the-chest, 1-in-the-head assault on the premium Chromebook institutional market, Google left bleeding dead in an alley.

people don't understand the new Macbook Neo is not $600, it's $500 in student loan funny money at the College Bookstore and it's $400 in institutional bulk pricing for a K-12 School District

Pretty sure you had to enable discord integration before the game would have access. But yeah seems like discord should think about making some more restrictive APIs if they want you to be able to see your friends list in game or whatever.

This bit in the From Russia With Love game made me laugh out loud. You've got a fairly grounded, low key fight based on the one in the movie, then the most video game looking fucker of all time slides into frame.

Nancy by Ernie Bushmiller.

First panel, Nancy talking to a logger sawing a tree and pointing to a carved piece of trunk.

Nancy: Can I have that piece? My boy friend carved it.
Logger: Sure.

Second panel, Nancy is watching the log burn in the fire place.
Nancy: I'm mad at him.

Every once in awhile I think about this Nancy comic and it makes me laugh every single time. Absolute perfection.

Our village is dying. The Plex server is at capacity and its spinning drives are failing. There is hope, however. The discs speak of something called a "WD Elements" drive. It is said that people in the past used to shuck like oysters, and that it can bring life to a server. This is your quest.

A Reddit post titled 3.58 Petabytes written to a 256GB Samsung NVMe - It's at 170% usage and has more errors than there are stars in the universe.

A Reddit post titled 3.58 Petabytes written to a 256GB Samsung NVMe - It's at 170% usage and has more errors than there are stars in the universe.

The "Absolute Unit" of SSDs: Samsung PM981 (256GB) | just checked the stats on my humble
Arma 3 server's boot drive and I'm pretty sure I've found the "Final Boss" of Samsung V-NAND. This is a standard Samsung PM981 256GB (OEM version of the 970 EVO), officially rated for 150 TBW. It has been running an Arma 3 server (Antistasi Ultimate + Headless Client) with 16GB of RAM and a playit.gg tunnel. Between the aggressive logging and the constant OS swapping, it's been under a 24/7
artillery barrage of writes.
The Horror Stats: Capacity: 256 GB
Total Data Written: 3.58 PB (3,580 TB) - That's 24x its rated lifespan!
Percentage Used: 170% Power On Hours: 10,836 (~1.2 years of non-stop 320GB/hour hammering)
Media & Data Integrity Errors: 1.935e32 (Yes, that's
193 Quintillion errors. For context, there are only about 1024 stars in the observable universe. My SSD has more errors than the cosmos has stars.)
Current State of Chaos: The kernel log (dmesg) is absolutely screaming. It's throwing critical medium errors and unrecovered read errors constantly. The file system superblock is rotting away (Bad magic number), and the drive is basically disintegrating in real-time while the server is still heartbeating. I'm keeping it running until the very second it becomes a paperweight. It's no longer a storage device; it's a survivor. Has anyone ever seen a TLC drive take much abuse and keep going?

Shoutout to this one Samsung NVME that this guy ran an ARMA server off of and is still going after 24x its rated life span. www.reddit.com/r/DataHoarde...

just beat the Hell's Kitchen Video Game for the nintendo DS where 100% of the gameplay takes place on the touch screen and the top screen is just a Gordon Ramsay vtuber with an anger meter that you have to keep down or he will hit his ult and shut down the kitchen

Illustration of a sunfish (also known as a Mola Mola) floating above an aerial view of some farm lands. A plane flies next to the fish, really putting into perspective of just how large the sunfish really is.

I think that if sunfish could, the would be sunbathing in the sky ☁️

If I had a nickel for every time Disney exhibited art by a man responsible for millions of deaths, I’d have at least two because the mosaic in Cinderella Castle was executed by Hanns Scharff, the master interrogator of the Luftwaffe and post-war CIA interrogation expert

the left needs to seriously engage with umamusume: pretty derby. if you don't plan out which support card banners to pull for the next year, you'll struggle to be competitive during future scenarios and champions meetings
