Letter from Sen. Fetterman dated March 6, 2026 telling me that he plans to vote for Elise Stefanik for UN Ambassador.
I wrote to my senators to urge them not to vote for Casey Means for surgeon general. Fetterman responded today (3/4/26), "I voted to confirm Senator Marco Rubio as Secretary of State and plan to do the same for Representative Elise Stefanik as U.S. Ambassador to the UN...." What? 🤦♀️

The surprising extrapulmonary disease even after aggressive ART despite normalized CD4+ T cell counts & subtle changes in CD8+ T cell function underscore the need to understand the immunologic mechanisms of TB progression and how ART modulates immune responses impaired by HIV. 3/4
+/- antiretroviral therapy (ART) on Mtb infection. While very early suppressive ART prevented disease progression in lungs & lymph nodes, it did not inhibit dissemination of Mtb outside of the lung. Similarly, ART did not restore impaired T cell responses caused by SIV. 2/4

🧵Good news out of #NIH today.
(1) NIH is extending #ESI and #K99/R00 eligibility to accommodate researchers whose eligibility would have ended during the previous shutdown. Take a look at NOT-OD-26-020. If your ESI status would have ended in 2025, you get an automatic extension through 2026/03/31.
