This is a very very very obvious point to make but shops and movie rental places and record stores are all more fun than buying things online
I would take it a step further and say that policing in general and the prison industrial complex (PIC) are two more vital pillars that allow for the immigration industrial complex. Militarization is often external and can’t be turned inward without manufacturing consent via policing and the PIC.
