I swear I’m not just saying it because I’ve got a piece in here, but I totally agree, not a bad story in this anthology! Gabriela Santiago’s “I Don’t Wanna Go to Mexico No More, More, More” was stellar and probably my favorite of the bunch.

Supreme bummer how many Born Against songs are still relevant 35+ years later
Thanks! Glad it worked for you.
Truly honored my story “Elizabeth By the Pea Patch” was included in this great anthology, and even if it wasn’t I’d still be singing its praises!
@ericjguignard.bsky.social did a fantastic job curating this; I honestly can’t remember the last time I read such a consistently strong anthology. I‘m still over the moon my story was included in it!
Highly recommend the Indigenous black metal band Pan-Amerikan Native Front. Here they are playing a killer set at KEXP in Seattle!
This falls on my birthday! 2am on my birthday, but I still grabbed a ticket and will stay up for it. I’m due to reread some more Aickman, so this is a good incentive to do so over the next month or two.
👀
Glad to see Antrum get some love! The wraparound mockumentary detracts a bit from the experience for me, but the film itself is fantastically eerie.
I recommend the Vourdalak on Shudder if you haven't seen it. It’s one of my favorite horror films of the last few years!
Ooh, thanks for the reminder! Just pre-ordered.
I still need to play with you guys. If you ever have room after 9:30 on weeknights, holler!
I just want to remind everyone that Bob Iger is also the guy who cancelled Twin Peaks in 1991
2 has some cool stuff going on; it explores the lore, which is interesting, but I prefer the suggestion the first leaves us with.
3 is standalone, sort of an “elsewhere…” situation, 4 picks up after the events of the second film.
The first movie Is one of my faves!
2 is okay, but it lacks the frantic claustrophobia of 1. Worth watching, though. I struggled with the rest. 3 is a comedy, 4 is more action-oriented, both are skippable.
I ended my Instagram embargo to post about it, they’re all probably from the homies!
Of course they fucking do.
Truly an evergreen band for me.

It's expensive and far from perfect here but state healthcare is low/no cost

Malarkey mail, hell yeah. 😎
@malarkeybooks.bsky.social
You should get KLR 24 because it has my story in it, obviously, but you should really absolutely just order a book from Malarkey because you’ll get the zine anyway!
🙏
"he's [shitty white people's] george floyd" is the kind of thing i have to laugh uproariously at because the alternative is that i scream and do not stop screaming until i die
A pelican scene from BBC Earth kinda scarred my psyche, haha
I wrote a story about a kid encountering basically a pelican monster in his closet at night, so yes
Never thought I’d find myself emailing Fox, yet here I am. What a reprehensible human being.
Same here! I’ve always wondered if “The Broadsword” was inspired by Leiber’s Our Lady of Darkness and/or Klein’s “Children of the Kingdom”. And man, “Mysterium Tremendum” is a contender for my favorite short story ever.
Characterizing the divide between what the right wants and those who oppose fascists wielding state power to commit violence against the marginalized as a “disagreement“ is, frankly, a bananas take, Senator.
When you get to “Siamese Twins” check out this video instead!
My brain started melting trying to decide if it’s “Siamese Twins” or “Doing the Unstuck” or ”Love Song” or “Catch” or “From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea” or “A Forest” or “Burn” so I’m just gonna say “Just Like Heaven”
we have an authoritarian leader who is going full duterte, and that’s just *one* reason it scares me how happy liberals are to use dehumanizing language about addiction to attack others.
you’d think we’d learn something from all the ICE concentration camps going up, but we haven’t learned shit
