This study obtained consumption data in REAL-TIME and established:
- 46% orders were unhealthy foods such as burgers, pizza
- Nearly 40% orders driven by convenience

The digital food environment is reshaping our access to foods and should be a key consideration for urban planners and policymakers striving to build healthier communities. How can we ensure fair access to healthy and affordable food in both physical spaces and the digital landscape?

We observed that while meal delivery apps have potential to increase online access to healthy food outlets, this is only occurring in the least disadvantaged areas. Moreover, wealthier areas have gained even more access to unhealthy food outlets online - including alcohol retailers.
