Hell yeah
@bluehone
Rec league curler (usually at Four Seasons Curling Center in Blaine); event runner up at best. #broomshakalaka he/him/his "Minnesota is dope, if only simply for not what we have, but what we don't" https://youtu.be/fce9VAzA0os?si=-gIEuOmRVlJvJSPe
Hell yeah
The @unrivaledwbb.bsky.social league is a good example of how fans might sort themselves
I think it's easy to pick a team that loosely represents the individual fan, but I'm telling people that I'm a frontier fan because of the sweeping depth on that team. Also Cory & Korey
They are pretty cool but they also activate the douchebag center of certain curlers brains because now they have data to back up their inflated opinions of themselves
The last gsoc matched US vets against Canadian vets, so while I'm pro-curling with a vet from anyplace it may not help me with my goal to play at GSOC
Still looking for any military or veteran people that are also curlers!
I'm still fascinated by people arguing about directional sweeping. Is it not obviously effective when done well?
This will be interesting to learn more about! I was at a spiel where they used the smart brooms as a side challenge to crown "strongest sweeper"
A top-down, full shot captures a white paper bib with a colorful logo on it, lying on a blue plastic tablecloth. The bib is rectangular with a circular cutout at the top for the neck. The logo on the bib depicts two cartoon lobsters with cow-like patterns on their bodies, standing on a curling sheet. Above the lobsters, the letters "MCC" are written in a bold, stylized font, and below them, the words "LOBSTEIN~SPIEL" are written in a similar font. To the right of the bib, there is a fork, a white napkin, a silver tool, and a clear plastic water bottle. The background is a light gray floor. The lighting is bright and even, and the colors are vibrant.
We are 1-1, hungry for lobster and another win tomorrow.
Malort pairs well with self-loathing
Because I hogged a stone and also do not drink, my second took a shot of malort for me. He is now my Picture of Dorian Gray for the rest of the spiel
That was easy. She was playing on the sheet next to me!
An exterior view of the Marshfield Curling Club on a grey, overcast day. The building is a simple, white corrugated metal structure with two white entry doors and a grey metal railing. To the right of the doors is a large sign featuring the club's name and a black silhouette of a person sliding a curling stone. The ground is patches of brown grass and melting snow, suggesting early spring.
An interior wide shot of the Marshfield Curling Club, showing a long, refrigerated ice rink with three "sheets" of curling. The ice features large red and blue concentric circles (houses) with the club's name printed in the center. Rows of heavy curling stones with yellow and red handles are lined up on the ice and along the wooden walkways. The building has an industrial feel with exposed wooden roof trusses and bright fluorescent tube lighting overhead.
We have arrived for the Lobstein Spiel๐ฆ๐ฅ
Laptop shut for the weekend. Time to pack for the Lobstein Mixed Spiel ๐ฆ๐ฅ
#Curling folks, any experience and tidbits if you're been involved to soliciting sponsorship for the club for a particular project?
What kind of sheet/bar options have been offered?
We're exploring joining the 21st century and not be scared of the idea lol
Match or game is good, bonspiel is the whole tournament
On Wednesdays we AWOoooOo
My money is on Marc spinning down the sheet Dropkin-style with both middle fingers raised high
1:00 oโclock Wednesday, folks
Very disappointed that I cannot watch this live tonight
A high-angle, vertical shot of a curling rink, looking down the length of the ice. In the immediate foreground, a large black letter "D" is printed on the ice, just behind two black and white starting blocks (hacks) used by curlers to push off. A single grey granite curling stone with a red handle sits directly in front of the blocks on the pebbled ice surface. In the middle ground, the ice features a "house"โa series of concentric target rings colored in blue and green. Further down the rink, several people are visible, some holding curling brooms, standing on adjacent sheets of ice. The lighting is bright and even, reflecting off the white, textured ice surface.
League night ended with a skips deuce for the win we will never talk about after tonight.
Why is there a Derek Vinyard gif in my teams
Shout out to Bat-Oyun Uranchimeg out of Chaska Curling Club who once curled at FSCC when it was cool (Chaska is definitely cooler)
A week of Brier coverage, league tonight, practice Thursday, the Lobstein Spiel in Wisconsin on Friday.
It's a great time to be into curling.
This Manitoba game is fantastic
Bilawka backed up that ๐ฅ like Juvenile #brier2026
I'm so stoked to see Team Johnson on the international stage playing like this.
Seems like "protecting opportunities for women and girls" doesn't go very far.
