If you aren’t going to move around a lot from one place, might wanna consider a shotgun mic that can pick you up from a distance. Lavs can be finicky.

I’d encourage you to give the full game a try if you’re curious. Playing with 4 people isn’t going to carry you since the mobs get 4x HP in a full group, and it takes the pressure off of you since the monster has 3 other targets, which is when you can really enjoy the combat and wail on the enemy.

While a pretty game doesn’t make it good, it also adds a lot of charm. The game also knows how to have fun with the palicos and cooking animations and npc dialogue, so while the gameplay isn’t perfect, every single aspect of the game is passionately honed to be as gratifying and seamless as possible

One of my favorite games was Final Fantasy 11 purely for the huge maps and the feeling of exploring a dangerous, unforgiving world. No multiplayer game has given me that same feeling since, except for Monster Hunter. The areas are filled with insane cosmetic details and brimming with endemic life.

Yeah, it doesn’t help that 3/4ths of the weapons are pretty advanced.

Sword and Shield is a great place to start since the moveset is complex enough to feel rewarding to learn and you can block and survive more easily, light bow gun and bow&arrow are pretty simple too.

I did an SOS flare and when people didn’t join immediately it filled 2 slots with NPCs. I was even surprised to see one get carted twice.

Minimap usually, although there’s a ton of vomit on the UI so you’d be forgiven for not seeing it. One of those things you pick up after a bit.

Can you elaborate? As someone who has played heavily since Tri on the Wii, the game feels pretty different even from World. A lot of core aspects of weapons are the same, but blocking and dodging and healing and everything is sorta clunky and different, even I’m having to unlearn a lot.

I mean, it’s an action game. It’s about getting good at the combat and learning the monsters. Eventually you feel like David fighting Goliath as you deftly dodge a powerful move or perfect counter something that would have killed you.

The game suffers most by requiring gamers to be patient tbh

the main, uniquely numbered final fantasy entries are all new stories with new characters that you do not need knowledge from previous entries to play. you can just play whichever one looks the coolest to you.

Honestly dude, I want to come back sometimes, but I’m so happy working on my career and spending time with my partner and pets and IRL friends that the internet is more like a silly playground to play with friends, I have no time or attention for all the hatred and bitterness of social media anymore
