When I blog for #ITT begining teachers & their #mentors, it is always with my own partnership in mind.

Today I presented 2 posters on new strands of work using Maton's LCT @lctcentre.bsky.social at #UKICER2025. The first was on the problem of ensuring students understand the 'rules of the game' in learning to program are (code quality matters) using the epistemic plane.

My 2nd new strand of work using Maton's LCT @lctcentre.bsky.social presented at #UKICER2025 on the problem of teaching skills (graduate, workplace, practical) with theory, visualising using the semantic plane, suggests should integrate with waves between theory and skills

The LCT Centre no longer recognises “Columbia University” as a university, because it has forfeited its institutional autonomy to become an arm of the US Justice Dept.
After reading an intro like this it's also worth reading the original paper by Karl Maton that introduces Semantic Waves

Three pictures from the session of making a robotic face from volunteers programmed to react to sounds and doing magic.
Yesterday I was having fun working with #DigitalSchoolhouse Lead Teachers demonstrating unplugged computing and talking about principles of doing it well based on research on @lctcentre.bsky.social Legitimation Code Theory Semantics and Autonomy... (teaching with Magic, Making Faces and Mayhem)
