Hey I got my first block! What do I win?? ๐
You might as well just save your breath. They blocked me for my "nonsensical reply." I guess they don't appreciate gross oversimplification. ๐
People like breathing air. Yet they've been going into water, where there is no air, for thousands of years. Why do they go there? Air is the thing they want, and they can't get it underwater. Could their motivation be something else perhaps?
We're just talking past each other here.
No one is disputing that people want jobs. All I'm saying is that it's important to consider WHY. No one wants a job for funsies. I certainly don't. I work to pay my bills and put food on the table; I don't exist just to work.
The job is not the issue, it's a means to an end. They don't ultimately want the job. They ultimately want to live and provide for their family. A job is how they hope to do that. It's semantics, but it's an important distinction.
I'm loving all the wildfire content, but does anyone also have packs or accounts to follow for fire science, fire protection engineering, or fire in the built environment?
I think you're confused about what empathy is. Having empathy would be understanding that someone fleeing their home country is just trying to survive. Lacking empathy is when you ignore any of those reasons and reduce it to "they just want a job."
That's a shame. We've just started to get QTs in IL, so I'll have to try the pizza!
Christmas lights in the shape of a Christmas tree, glowing green under a pink night sky.
The night is dark and full of terrors, but Marvin (our garden) will be your guiding light. ๐๐
I've heard the pizza at Casey's gas stations is ๐ฅ
