I Just did a reading with Inkfish Press, with Tim Moder, and

Thursday Night Poets Poetry Reading 12/4/2025
Thursday Night Poets Poetry Reading 12/4/2025 YouTube video by Robert Allen Poet

I was lucky enough to host a reading with The Thursday Night Poets last night. 5 poets, 5 minutes each.

The YouTube text box has info on how to get the poet's chapbooks and books. It's the giving season.

Really good poetry here. Enjoy it!

I'm not self -published, I tried that with my first chapbook and it was a lot of work, from typesetting to printing to marketing. Those aren't my skills but I know others who self publish with success.

It’s a shorter book or pamphlet than a full length book, usually 20-40 pages or so. I like their brevity for organizing around a central theme.

Today is the day of my poetry chapbook release of "Aphasia." I'm very psyched! I'm so grateful to @inkfishmagazine.bsky.social

I'd be really honored if you picked up a copy of "Aphasia."

Oops I forgot. Not very kind of me to not mention someone who translated the poem. It’s Bernard Meares.

there should be a reality show where people race to see who gets fully actualized first

I hope he enjoys him. Now, I'm going to pull him off the shelf today, and read something scary. I like his writing style a lot. The first poem I really read on my own with pleasure was "The Bells." It got me into poetry for good.

that's a good point about heart centered writing. I appreciate that kind of writing as maybe the best. I should have said "sentimental", that's what I fear!

100%, I agree that it's how it makes us feel, and the others who read it. If it sells a million copies or if you have 10,000 followers, it's still the actual poem that really matters

When yours came life was too busy and I'm sorry I didn't around to reading it all, but I'd like to now.

I only doubt when my ego gets in the way, and that's often enough for me. I doubt you're mediocre poet, just writing poems when they come puts you high in the game

Self doubt is the worst thing a poet can have I think, not being to present authentically limits the outcome

and I still read him for the creepy-action told so well

When I was that age, I loved Poe for the same reasons, suspense and good story telling, and never a a happy ending.
