I’m going back to 1989 tonight! This one’s going to be special!
I had such a great time hanging out with Fulya and chatting indie games and we brought up some great titles that we are looking forward to this year.
2025 was brutal for games media, but I'm seeing some glimmers of hope as worker-owned sites like @aftermath.site, @rascal.news, and @giantbomb.bsky.social have carved out vital spaces in the games community.

A chance to hear something from a game we will never play.
I couldn’t get enough of the electrical, synthy sounds, some mournful, that it is still in my rotation to this day and I am so happy Lena got to release this for them just as much as for us.

Mario Kart world
Hearing music from Super Mario Land re-imaged and include whistling was one of my moments of the year and this soundtrack gave me continuous moments just like this as I heard more and more of these fabulous re arranged music. I was in constant awe!

Citizen Sleeper 2
I was anxious coming into Citizen Sleeper 2 as I was worried that my expectations were too high for its soundtrack but I shouldn’t of worried as it hit on every level and was the perfect accompaniment to Gareth’s writing.

Promise mascot agency
I was blown away when I heard this music as it was incredible throughout. Full of wonderful Japanese inspired tracks, it is filled with such originality that it fits into the world perfectly and made the experience so much more memorable.

The Séance of Blake manor
Usually not my type of game, this dug its claws into me and didn’t let go.
One reason was its incredible atmospheric music, bringing all the moody, spooky & mysterious vibes it could muster and taking everything to the next level.

Wheel World
Although I didn’t overly vibe with the game to much, one thing that got me through to the end was its incredible soundtrack.
Filled with high energy, vocal tracks, I found myself bopping along while I was racing around this world with a smile on my face.

Hollow knight Silksong
Throughout my play through, there was always a constant presence that always brought me back to sanity and that was the soundtrack.
The tracks bring the world of Pharloom alive and gave the game such an original vibe that I’ll always remember it.

Donkey Kong Bananza
Nintendo hit the perfect score with music that gave each area its own distinct atmosphere, while making my feet tap along with the Bananza tracks.
The end credit song is also perfect which holds one of my favourite gaming moments of the year.

Discounty
Discounty’s soundtrack was such a highlight. Filled with happy, interesting tracks that not only gave a supermarket feel in the store sections, but gave the overall game such an original memorable vibe that I’ll always remember it fondly.

Old Skies
The great narrative and voice acting is not the only reason Old Skies stands out as its soundtrack elevates the game so much.
It is filled with a wonderful, varied mix of genres and is a great example of how music can raise the emotional level of a game.

Finally had a chance to build my Christmas pressie and it was much fun!
I do appreciate the detail Lego put into these sets with a moveable cross pad, buttons and volume and contrast knobs all present in this one.

Saw the latest Mission Impossible last night and it’s a weird one. There were a couple of stand out action moments but it all was wrapped around this somber atmosphere that never left.
The score certainly didn’t help, especially with saving the Mission Impossible theme to the end credits.
Prob one of the best phone wallpapers I’ve had in some time!
