I was all-in on Jessie Buckley winning the Academy Award later this month until I saw this.....
Cork City FC (in white tops) vs Bray Wanders (in blue tops) in Turners Cross Stadium at night. Photo taken from the stand
It could have been 3-0 for us, but we'll take the 1-0 over @braywanderersfc.bsky.social last night in a busy Turners Cross. Some solid performances by the likes of Mpongo and Maguire, but the standout was new man Cillian Murphy (with an Oscar worthy performance...!).

It wasn't Sony that killed Xbox, it was Microsoft.
Consoles are dead. All companies want is subscription based cloud gaming. When Xbox goes PS will be in serious trouble.
My cat is similar. If the radiator is on and something is blocking it (e.g. clothes) she'll knock them over and perch herself next to the heat.
Great news, Stephen! I was fearful what the future of Cork Pride would look like. This seems positive.
Band Rebel Brass performing on stage in the Lounge at Savoy Cork
Main dance floor of Savoy Cork
This weekend was my first time inside Savoy since 2014. Great to see the folks at The Good Room utilise this iconic Cork space once again.
Unfortunately the main dance floor (which felt like the largest nightclub in the world when I was 19 lol) wasn't opened this weekend!
learned about the baby monkey named punch in japan thats having a hard time integrating with the monkey troop after being rejected by its mother and raised by humans, carrying the plush toy its caretaker gave him around...... im inconsolable rn oh my god

Last point - if not bringing back a Budget Briefcase, we need a new iteration of Charlie McCreevy's Budget CDs!
I'm now curious, do any (Catholic) TDs still don ashes on their head as much?
Also that picture is of Bertie during the Budget 1992.
Bring back February Budgets and Budget Briefcases!

Ash Wednesday!
What are the odds on Strarmer being gone by May?
Typical, if you win a Oscar, you're an Irishman in the papers, but if you are a key member of the downfall of the British Prime Minster, suddenly it's Corkman this, Corkman that!
Great take!, he's definitely caught between roles and it's showing
One thing that has hit me hard is the amount of Vape Shops there are in Athlone Town.
Walking from Northgate Street to Golden Island Shopping Centre (just over half a mile) I counted at least 10 shops that were Vape Shops/Tech Repair Stores + Vapes.
Athlone Gateway Bridge over the River Shannon facing the Church of Saints Peter and Paul (day time)
Small boats docked on the Athlone Marina (night time)
Another great business stay in Athlone.
A forever growing town in the middle of Ireland!

We are looking for objects to display in the exhibition. Do you have any Cork Queer Memorabilia from prior to 2000? Would you be willing to donate them to the Cork LGBT Archive? It won't be possible to display everything as space is limited. Contact: CorkLGBTHistory@gmail.com

I'd say the same if I also saw the opening weekend box office numbers it had...
I have yet to see a good review for Return to Silent Hill.
How can it be so bad? It's based on Silent Hill 2 (which was a great PS2 game) and Christophe Gans directed it, who also directed the 2006 Silent Hill movie.
Some potentially controversial choices, or at least rankings here.
Good to see Train Dreams in the top 10, but Sinners should be closer to number 1.
I'll definitely be getting more books in the series as I read through them. I has to buy each book in separate stores as both were sold out of each other and the rest of the collection.
Agree - it's a top tier show!
I binged Heated Rivarly this weekend and immediately afterwards I went into town to buy copies of the books it is based on (Rachel Reid's Game Changer and Heated Rivarly).
The representation in this series was refreshing. No usual clichΓ©s. Sea-change is the right way to describe it.
What about Michael A. Jordan also in Sinners?
Reading alot about Jimmy McShane, and Baltimora, recently.
Jimmy was born and reared in 1960s Derry. An incredible Irish voice the world lost 30 years. One of many talented gay singers who died of AIDS-related illness in the 1990s.
Tarzan Boy is just fabulous.
