I've got to get the kiddo to bed but I can poke at some academic library resources tomorrow with those keywords if you don't have any luck. Happy hunting!
Check whichever major city public library you may have access to (e.g. if you have an address anywhere in MA you can get a BPL card and log into their historical newspaper databases)
Chronicling America via the LoC goes to 1963. I highly recommend the "within 5/10words" settings in the dropdown next to the keyword box. You can also choose a specific state or range of states
Would you like some suggestions of free resources to try first? I've been digging through a lot of 1800s newspapers over the past few months
Toddler presented me with a rock for the first time today. It's a good one, palm-sized and pleasingly speckled
My trusted mechanic's advice a few years ago was to go full EV or gas hybrid, because he was seeing much higher maintenance costs for plug-in hybrids. This may have changed?
Yes, THIS. This fall my pediatrician couldn't tell me when they'd get covid doses in. And I could only make the city-run clinic work because I could afford to drop everything for a day to get the kiddo there!
My kingdom for a train WMass/Boston on a reasonable daily schedule! I hate the Pike
Bought baby's first bike helmet. Guy at the shop was amused when I said "see, this is why I wanted to shop someplace with a human". But seriously, he grabbed the right size first tryβa website could never

I would like to thank my past self for stocking the freezer with heat & eat options
Daylight saving change, weirdly warm day + toddler and 2 cats + spouse out of town = I'm absolutely exhausted and fried
This is always wild to me. This is why I keep books on the shelf! Do people think they're just decorative, or...?
Same!
Imagine all the cool, fast trains we could have with the billions we spend on bombs.
Absurd!
I looked into taking Amtrak from Boston to DC last year and ended up having to drive for several reasons including there was NO checked baggage service on that route (or indeed out of that station). More and better trains, please!!
Woohoo! Congrats!
That's fantastic! I did googly eyes on reagent bottles in grad school, but everyone just (correctly) assumed it was me
Markwayne Mullin, seriously?
I've been offline all day. Surely I haven't missed any news, right? ::nervous laughter:;
That's what we all need: just a simple tailor!
It's mammal night at your house?!
THIS was NOT what I meant ππ
Mighty weather deities of Boston! Please forgive me for my past hubris (smugness about having moved to Texas prior to winter 2015) and stop snowing now
...So in local news: I still need to get some more heating oil for the house before the prices, uh, do what they're going to do. Want some pretty-low-priced #ebook bundles that have never been anywhere near AI slop? Grab one of these and help keep a writer warm! π dduane.link/EBDBundlesLi...
Now I want to say "Sal, the unselfish shellfish connoisseur" five times fast, but I don't think I can
Instead of spraying for mosquitos this summer, try the Mosquito Murder Bucket!
It's cheaper than paying a company and doesn't kill all of the beneficial insects in the area.

Tactical error! But also, gorgeous! And a pleasantly absorbing knit, no doubt
